ETA: Apparently it's happened 5 times this season, and only 12 times total since the 2010-11 season - link

Is this a case of "before he turned the corner" Kemba where he'd be awful but he'd have a really nice assist to turnover ratio so people held onto the hope that he'd work out as a PG?

Not necessarily, though that obviously worked out well. I just think it's obvious that Frank has very high BBIQ and just needs his shot to start falling. Frank is shooting 40% from 3 in our last 10 games, so that's promising. In the month of January he has a FG% of 41.5% and 3PT% of 37.5%, which is a major improvement over the way he started the season.

Frank coming alive?! Been shooting much better lately.

Minus the total chokejob the other night with the game on the line vs Sac.

He should be a BIG beneficiary of the Plumlee trade

The stats might show we are better with Frank on the floor. But good God he is just the worst player I've ever seen at missing bunnies, getting blocked by guys 8 inches shorter than him, or just generally sucking anytime he passes up an open 3 for a pump fake drive.

I don't understand why he can't learn to shoot 3's and stick to it.

Trending up

In 7 Feb games, including 5 as a starting center, Frank is averaging 17ppg, 6.5rpg shooting 43% FG and 34% 3PT. %s still need to improve, but its a step in the right direction. He also has a +5.2 net rating in Feb, which considering our losing streak is a good sign.

I have been surprised at his defense at the 5 spot, one on one he's been quite good but he doesn't really have the mobility to provide much help.

I know it's easy to make fun of the Miles trade right now, but having a rim runner on the floor at all times I think is going to be very valuable and will help unlock Frank's playmaking and passing. I think it'll help Frank really capitalize on his strengths if he can play next to a super mobile C that can help on the boards and bring aggressiveness in the paint on D and can also force defense attention on rim runs on O while working the O glass.

I'm glad Frank is figuring it out hopefully. Of all the draft picks still on the roster I kind of want him to succeed the most b/c I like his ball IQ.

Frank would have a pretty great feel good story IMO if he works out, dude should have a massive chip on his shoulder.

Since FK moved to center. Bizarre similarities besides the hard-wired DNA in red.

Frank is on a good trajectory.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Theres no doubt his playmaking skills have been a nice surprise.

Its also huge if he demonstrates the versatility to continue playing as a backup center.

He still has a lot of potential. I absolutely think he could improve to a 39% or higher shooter from 3.

I dont watch the knicks often enough to read much into porzingis stats. But the guy is going to be a stud defender.

Yeah, we need to call Zen Master and get that Kaminsky - Porzingis trade started. NYK has to throw in a pick though.

Frank's having another late-November-2016 stretch. Let's see him string more than 4 NBA-caliber performances together without looking like a D-Leaguer before crowning him the franchise savior.

Interesting to read about Cliff telling Frank to get selfish.

I have thought that Frank is probably going to be the #2 Hornet for awhile. He just needs to know that a couple of misses is nothing. Frank has to stay aggressive and fire away or make quick passes. His offensive skill set is hard to find and we need him to become the poor man's Larry Bird pronto.

Ugh. We obviously should have experimented more with Frank at the 5 prior to trading for Plumlee
