After what fact? The guy has had one of the most incredible comebacks from injury that you'll see in any sport, let alone just MMA. And then even when he loses like he did against Cody, he still displays a level of grace that is almost unrivaled.

He has practically done a media tour of his graciousness. Those post-fight interviews were all about how, "I am going to take this like a man", "this is what men do", "this is what real fighters/champions do", "no excuses, I don't make excuses", etc. Every last statement was actually about how big of a human being he was, it all shone reflected virtue onto himself.

Chael Sonnen is an actually good loser (lots of practice, obv), he shakes the guy's hand, makes a single statement, and leaves. Dom immediately launched into some ridiculous circuit about how virtuously he was taking this loss, how his reaction was uniquely noble.

Just take the loss and leave, man.

He basically got competitive about losing. 'I''m the most manly/champion-like/noble loser, I take losses unlike anyone else'. The guy is a straight control freak loon.

More importantly than Dom, NDT was on JRE yesterday. I swear to god if Rogan spends the whole time arguing with him about the moon landing conspiracy again I'm going to freak the eff out.

I met the guy at a USO and he was very nice, even asking us about our jobs and showing an interest instead of acting like the universe revolves around him. Also, it seems weird to me to criticize a professional athlete for being competitive about losing and being confident.

If I remember correctly he gave props to Cody for winning and then said, "Loss is a part of life. If you don't lose, you don't grow." I thought that was really inspirational, especially coming from a guy who came back from 3 knee injuries to win his belt back. Then again, I do have a soft spot for people who suffer knee injuries.

Chael Sonnen says Tito Ortiz verbally tapped at Bellator 170

On the most recent episode of his podcast You’re Welcome!, Sonnen discussed Ortiz’s offer to Bellator as well as why he would like a rematch with Ortiz now that it might be on the table. In so doing, he also claimed that Ortiz’s win of him was suspect because Ortiz tapped out before Sonnen did and explained why he didn’t bring this up earlier.

“The score is one-one between Tito and I and you always go into a rubber match. Everyone knows that. The only reason I kept my mouth shut at the Tito fight - look, Tito tapped in that fight. I knew Tito tapped when he tapped. I heard Tito verbally tap and I’ve never said a word about it, privately to Tito at the press conference or to you guys. I never said anything and the reason is, first off, when you lose, you just take your loss. It’s not a tap if the referee doesn’t call it a tap so therefore, Tito didn’t tap. I thought he tapped, and I let a move go. He verbally tapped, and I never said anything about it and the reason was, he quit the sport five seconds later. He quit the sport five seconds after I tapped and he quit the sport a minute and five seconds after he tapped. There was no rematch. There was nothing to build and no reason to tell the real story.

Chael also claims to be undefeated and the reigning MW champ. He's a s***-disturber. I don't know what he's doing w/ regards that quote. He did not make any scene at all post-fight. He let Tito have the win and the spotlight.

He's done that before - given it up and then been right back on the campaign trail a few weeks later.

Don't forget that Jon Jones clearly kneed Sonnen while he was downed. When asked about it, Chael said something to the effect of, "Maybe. But I would have done the same, you do what you need to to win the fight". He totally conceded the win to JJ, it was remarkable.

To be fair, he conceded the win to Jon before that fight even took place.

Thinking Maia is going to sub Gamebread in the 1st round without any issue just pisses me off. That's a pointless fight and they're **** this sport up with their bull.

UFC, Misha Cirkunov come to agreement on new contract

Previously, White had told TSN that Cirkunov “flaked out” on an initial deal with the UFC. White said he was “done” with Cirkunov and he would no longer be in the UFC.

That apparently changed in the last week or so. White said Cirkunov and his wife flew to Las Vegas to have dinner with White and brokered a deal, the UFC boss said.

“We had come to terms on a deal, I had thought, and he sort of went MIA on me,” White said Wednesday. “I honestly don't know what happened. He came back around, we got the deal done and I’m happy about it.”

Cirkunov (13-2) is on an eight-fight winning streak and has won all four of his fights in the UFC via finish. In his last bout, the Canadian by way of Latvia beat Nikita Krylov by first-round submission. Cirkunov, 29, could be nearing a title shot in a relatively wide-open 205-pound division with another win or two. He has not lost a fight since 2012.

Maia just walked through Condit like he was nothing. What does Gamebread have over Condit?

Better TDD maybe? That said, Gamebred has never fought the calibre of wrestlers Condit (GSP, Hendricks, Woodley) had to fight.

TDD and the ability to punch him off to regain space. Boxing, footwork, and tdd are the best ways to resist a bjj master. Gamebred has at least 2 of those 3 aspects in his arsenal. The footwork one is iffy, but we saw better overal movement against Cerrone, and that's one reason he pulled the moderate upset there. He did look improved too. So we shouldn't be so flippant about a belief that Maia will win. I'll take Maia because if it does go to the ground, and he gets control before Gamebred can get his back up off the mat, then it's going to be tough for Jorge to recover. He's said before, "I don't do that pajama stuff". But he has the tools to not end up in those positions much if at all, and if he can hurt Cerrone with power punches to the head, that's something he can do against Maia. That's something else he displayed improvement in, during the Cerrone fight, was sitting down on his punches and throwing them with more fluidity. So I don't think Maia should be more than -200. It's an interesting enough match-up. One may conversely be worried that it's not easy enough, while not being a big money fight either, for a guy who should already have a title shot. He could get knocked off his #1 contender spot.

Condit has some physical gifts over Masvidal but I think Masvidal is more athletic tbh. Better wrestler.

re: Dom on Rogan

"I can't tell you how many world champion kickboxing coaches have told me, 'only you can do what you do.' ...I couldn't disagree more." Humble brag to the moon.

He's such a manipulative douche.
