You can't give up 130 points to a mediocre team on the 2nd night of a back to back. I didn't get to see the game, who was most at fault defensively? Was it Brook on the PnR? Or Foye and Skill's usual hopeless one on one D? Or were the kids having an off game on that side of the ball? Or, most likely, all of the above?

Sean most def has to be pissed with how little he is going to get back for Brook. We all have to pray that he can get us a late teens pick and open cap.

Whenever brook was in the game they attacked him and pulled him away from the paint. Basically, Mason was standing 30 ft out and Brook was on him like he was steph curry.

Low defensive IQ, plain and simple.

I don't know why the Nets didn't shop Kilpatrick at the deadline. Sure he's making little money but he's a liability on this team and does not have a high ceiling for improvement. With his inflated stats, we could have gotten 2 2nd round picks.

Kenny needs to really trim his rotation and start playing guys who deserve to play...At this point, he should get an idea of who has done well enough to warrant more looks and who doesn't warrant any more time....I'm hoping that for the rest of the season, we will see a tighter rotation with longer minutes for players who are playing well.

His 9 men rotation should be : Lin/Harris/LeVert/Booker/Lopez.....Dinwindie, RHJ, Hamilton, Acy......Hamilton only wins a spot because there's no one else to back up Lopez.

Some of you may prefer Whitehead instead of Dinwindie, but to me, it makes no difference...neither of these 2 have clearly out-played the other..Maybe Dinwindie has done a bit better.

Lin/Levert/Booker/Acy/Brook.

Brook can continue to be his allstar self. He can stand at the line chucking threes if he wants to or iso post-up if he wants to. We'll have Booker and Acy shouldering everything. I can't think of a better line-up.

That's why he tried to trade his ass for Drummond. I really wish that deal went through, I'd gladly deal with Drummond's "empty stats" compared to Lopez's. I was pretty disgusted with the team overall but Brook as always did nothing to elevate the team. Denver easily knew what to do to whip this team and it all revolved around exploiting how awful he is defensively.

Draft night can't come soon enough.

Yup.. exactly what i said. if brook gave uf anywhere near the 35 points and 7 blocks he had the night we wouldnt have this issue. bu we get 8 or 10 games like last night for every game where he goes off. the "7 foot monte ellis" comment earlier was spot on.

I dont want to hear excuses like "they onyl got X rebounds when brook was on the floor". we are dead last in second chance points allowed and lopez gives us 1 rebound. 1 rebound?!?! a 5 foot guy could get one rebound by accident. DJ khalid had more rebounds in the celebrity game!

I would care less about the rebounding if his D wasnt so bad as well. playing up on plumlee 30 feet from the hoop like he is steph curry? getting abused in every pick situaiton.... meanwhile our gauds take a beating like the russian gave apollo in rocky 4 on every screen because lopez has to play way off as to not give up a lob dunk in every pnr.

im just over it. so nany people said "how can we replace his scoring" but then i watch games like tonite and his 18-20 points really didnt impact us much.

fell asleep at half time (thank god) just finished watching this morning on dvr.

bad:
-Lopez is a sally. case closed. i dont want to hear about his rebounding not being an issue or his D being good. stop with that noise.
-Same issues as always, bad D, turnovers, second chance points killed us
-second half quick 1 and done offense. needed to run the O. we dont have the skill to take quick shots. when we run kennys offense we get elite shots. unless its an odd numbers break move the ball

good:
-RHJ on Jokic. held him down. size didnt present an issue. shut down their 1-5 pnr until plumlee came in and RHJ shifted to PF.
-Lin. looked to be confident not hesistant, didnt reaggrivate. its a start. hope he hits his stride in a few games. id assume rest soon
-we had some sick inbounds plays
-harris looks to continue to play well
-booker is outstanding in a bench role.

looking forward to the new guys, hopefully after a few more practices. im glad the organization doesnt throw guys on the floor until they show an udnerstanding in practice. everythign has structure here now

The team played poorly. The bench did well in their first stint, but had issues in the second half. There's just no D, gave up too many offensive rebounds, back door cuts, no help defense, and on and on. Hope we're more competitive tonight, but we are playing a team on another planet.

they need to trade lopez, guy is such a liability with rebounding, his defense is suspect still, and he is basically a 7 foot shooting guard now. i hope nicholson and mcdaniels takes minutes from kilpatrick and hamilton.

I was never concerned with replacing his scoring because of our style of play. we need to get stops. That is what kills us every damn game.

And yep. Every time Lopez's man steps up to screen like clockwork I see one of the perimeter guys' heads snapping back or to the side because they get rocked by a pick while Lopez is standing back away from the action.

+1.

Lin looked good out there, he just needs to build himself up to push 28-30 mins.

When RHJ adds that grown man weight, he will be a legit PF. Just needs to watch it, last night he made some really sloppy TOs.

I do think however, a good part of the Nets' poor showing is because of the atmosphere in Denver. The usually energy and effort we've seen from this team just wasn't there.

rondae plays so lost and out of control, stupid passes. he shouldnt be playing power forward too, he is best at guarding sg and sf. he isnt strong enough to be a pf.

sean kilpatrick looks lost again, they need to look and see what they can get for him in offseason. kenny needs to leave some of his starters in with the subs instead of subbing all at once. he needs to get nicholson and acy and kj mcdaniels to limit some of other plays minutes .

Having Lin back will help alot. Having a steady veteran PG will make a HUGE difference in the confidence level of the players on the floor with him. They know they got a leader who can shoot and is more than willing to pass when a man is open, and thus they'll work hard to get moving and move to the open spots.

When you dont have faith in your PG to get you the ball when you're open, it REALLY affects your play.
