Wonder if we can get pick 3 or 4 and Boston gets pick 1 if they would trade down with us? I say this because the top 2 guys right now are players that play PG. Additionally, while the top 2 guys are great, they are not so great that Boston would not consider them levels above Jackson or possibly Isaac.

Just thinking vuc plus our pick to move up to pick #1 could be worth it. We would have plenty of cap space to grab a big guy like Nene, McGee, Patterson.

To have Fultz or Ball here running the show would take things to another level as long as Ross and Mario and AG continue to develop. A lot is on Mario. He needs to really show that he can start at SF. That would be a huge win for us if that happens. We have 23 more games to see what he can string together. Really, this is interesting to watch because our entire wing of Ross/Mario/Gordon needs to be evaluated. The potential of that trio is appealing, but that doesn't mean anything if they can't put up consistent numbers.

I'm trying to understand Rob's mindset going into the trade deadline now that it's past. He knew he had to trade Ibaka and get a return on him which he did but he does he feel on the roster? With our current injuries being to our expiring contracts maybe he felt a trade wasn't necessary. Maybe he felt playing together and developing chemistry is better than roster turnover especially since we had so much in the off-season? Maybe other GMs don't value our players too much or he doesn't have the skills to finesse another GM? Wondering what he's thinking as we approach his season evaluation.

More likely he felt the same way most of the league's GMs did, that no one worth getting was available for a price worth paying.

We talked a lot yesterday about all our rebuild bad luck, but look no further than the 76ers for all the rebuild good luck. This is the 2nd time they have drafted a franchise talent only to have that guy miss their entire first season, there by adding a potential great player while still keeping them bad and in line for another top pick the next year.

We can't get a franchise talent in our sights and they keep finding ways to draft in the top 3 every year.

Talking about trades that actually happend. Payton for Šarić and pick trade looks dumb now. Not only that pick is valuable, but Šarić is better player than Payton. Last 11 games 16,5 ppg, 7,4 rpg ,2,2 assists, 1 steal, 46% FG and Philly team, despite not having Embiid, actually plays through him and wins games ( won 5 of last 11 ). Last night they beat hot Warriors team, with ,again Šarić 20 points, 11 rebounds ,4 assists.

Rob didn't have balls to actually draft and stash him, so he made dumb trade where he get PG who never could work with Oladipo and lost valuable pick in process.

The difference between us is we can't even land elite talent toward the top of the draft. They are landing it, but they always get injured. At least their assets are tradeable.
