It's funny that a lot of us knew what Tucker was capable of. We know he's a tough gritty defender. It's different when you get to watch him do this on your own team. Just one game but I didn't think a perimeter player outside of the truly elite in this league, like Kawhi and Giannis, could have this kind of impact on our team.

I hope he takes Norm under his wing and grooms him to play defense like him someday. Norm's capable of it, but rough around the edges still.

After watching his debut, I think it's safe to say that Tucker is the true Junkyard Dog of the team. Carroll was a fraud. So refreshing to see players who take pride in playing defense using any means necessary.

And I suppose that this was a reason why he felt like playing his game #200 for Raps - perfect fit, good cohesion - all what people call "chemistry" despite coming straight from the airport :cuddle

He's one of the hardest workers in the league. Can guard anybody. Seen him guard likes of Curry/Westbrook to Cousins. Will definitely watch his first game with you guys today.

You're welcome.

The point is a rising tide lifts all ships...
Raps were god awful defensively before these additions, but these guys bring that ethic and wont tolerate laziness.
Its precisely what was needed because whatever Casey was preaching wasn't resonating.

As someone who watches a ton of Suns games (they were my favourite team before Toronto) I tried to tell them but nobody would listen.

I wouldn't go as far as a fraud.

To be fair to DeMarre. His knee was completely **** all of last year.

This year he's only been marginally better, but he's had some great flashes.

All in all.... I wouldn't call him a fraud.. in the past 2 years, DeMarre is the first guy in the middle of the action whenever **** gets heated out there. He's also he guy who sent the 2nd best Isaiah Thomas spilling to the floor... so I liked that :)

people forget that JYD v1.0 actually kinda stunk.

it's a bit of an insult to comp tucker to him.

Tucker was talking about how no one was talking on D but DeMar started talking. That blows my mind. How do you not, at this level, know to talk on D. It shows the lack of focus on that end. You gotta communicate and be engaged—otherwise everyone is running around disjointed.

He's not even just a defender. He mixes it up inside on the glass.

Reincarnation of Anthony Mason.

I got so amped when he just ripped the ball away from Isaiah and then later on intercepted a pass... and all those tough rebounds, amazing defensive intensity, switching, communicating on D, perfecting every little detail on those switches. Thank you for PJ

After years of posters on this board talking about getting him my expectations were HIGH.

He crushed my expectations and the celtics will to win. He invigorated this team. He's our first wing off the bench now for sure. Makes me want to go out and play D.

He's a great defender. Makes mistakes every now and then. But he's solid defensively
