Management was trying to simply dump the guy for nothing, now articles like this, yet he's still in the rotation sabotaging the 2nd unit.

Why are you worrying about Burke? He's probably getting a DNP next game. I think it's a guarantee that your guy Tomas will play on Sunday. Didn't you know that Brooks is going to have experiment with bench rotations for the next couple weeks? That's the natural course of action following a trade. Brooks still has 10 lineups to cycle through.

We didn't lose this game because of the bench. We lost because our starters couldn't blow a garbage team out by 30.

heard this before the sixers game, and for 30 games of Marcus Thornton, and the Jason Smith power forward experiment. You could put ANY lineup together that doesn't feature Burke, and it would be solid, plenty of talent.

Just got done watching the game. I give them credit for fighting until the end, but that was a bad loss.

It is possible that adding Mahinmi and Bojan might make our bench worse. Our best bench player during our good run was Jason Smith and it looks like his minutes are going to get cut.

So above in this thread you were arguing with me without having watched the game?

Mahinmi is hurt again and Brooks already said he needed to get Smith more time. Bench was brutal as usual but we were down 18 mainly due to horrific D by starters.

Arguing with you? Wall had 8 rebounds, twice as many as Beal and Porter, yet you call him out for poor rebounding. Bias much?

I watched the first half yesterday. In the game i was watching Wall was hustling all over the floor. He got to the foul line 14 times and had 14 assists. Of course he had his usual turnover problems and was overaggressive on D at times looking for steals, but he certainly was not lazy.

Here me out, but here's my idea:

We play him with Trey Burke

Trey Burke's plus minus was -4. John Wall was -6. Kelly Oubre's was -13 :o

And Gortat was +4 Beal was +1 Morris was +3. Oubre is struggling, but he's still developing. Burke should be in China by now.

I agree the Wizards need an upgrade at PG but I'm pointing out that Oubre played worse with Wall.

Oubre has been a nonfactor for 6 or 7 games straight now. He'll bounce back once Burke is benched though.

I hope you are right, although he played pretty badly against the Nets when he started in place of Morris and had 0 points. He could just be struggling due to being young/mentally fatigued. He will be fine if he can just knock down his 3s at a higher rate.

Agreed, he was awful that game. His jumpshot is off and he loses focus on D when his shot doesn't fall I think. He's gotta stop twisting on his 3s.

Wow, they really slept through that game. Will be interesting to see how they rebound, but talk about giving one away.

The Wizards still have that innate, deep seated ability ingrained after years and years to play down to the competition.

Yup, it was coming eventually especially since it took OT to beat the Nets. The 76ers played better against us than some of the teams that we played on the road recently including the Pacers and the Pelicans. Still, annoying that the Wizards didn't take the 76ers more seriously especially since they beat Washington already this season. Hopefully, the Wizards can use the loss as motivation going forward.

What exactly does Mahinmi do better than Jason Smith? On offense, its no question that Smith is better in every facet of the game. If Mahinmi is there for his defense, than I don't see it. At worst, I see them as equals on defense.

Mahinmi is worse than Nicholson. No one wants centers who can't do anything on the court. Biyombo only got 10 minutes of PT after the all-star break the other night.

I wonder if Portland would trade Turner for Mahinmi in the off-season? It balances out their roster. Still, I doubt it. Turner is actually an NBA player. Mahinmi is the 3rd best center on the team.

That's a hot take you got there. Mahinmi has played like 5 total games, and is part of the Trey Burke 2nd unit. His biggest strength is rolling to the bucket in pick and rolls, an action that Burke is incapable of running. I believe Mahinmi has the best defensive rating on the team, don't quote me on that though.

People gotta chill out. Jason's smith was playing well at the time, and Mahinmi had missed 50 games, it was going to be awkward. Calm down

I'm envisioning a Mahinmi Gortat Jason Smith front court. Call it the Triplet Towers Offense.

Which one of them will bring the ball up the court?
