I saw that Deron Williams and Thornton cleared waivers...... I didn't see Jones. You're sure he cleared and nobody claimed him?

If Jones can catch and hit corner 3s, defend a bit and clear rebounds, it would be a good pickup.

But he's hitting 25% from 3.

He had a monster game against the Cavs a few weeks ago, seems good at going to the rim against most 4s. Just not consistent enough though to help space out the floor.

Sounds like the Warriors are targeting guards. An article today mentioned Randy Foye as potentially another guy looking to get released. He hasn't had a very good season though...not sure how much he has left in the tank.

Doesn't surprise me that they are looking into a PG. Weber's defensive intensity is nice, but I don't think he can run an offense at the NBA level.

I hate Foye...I want no part of that guy.

I heard the Dubs might be interested in Calderon....on the surface that sounds putrid, but the dude can really shoot the three, and is a good passer. Just can't guard a chair though.

Warriors are expected to sign Jose Calderon. Is he capable of playing on an uptempo team cause I thought about him that he's best on a team that plays slow.

calderon seems pretty mediocre from his speed to movement. id rather have them chose jennings or rose (who is expected to get waived) and have someone who can create their own shot even if they are a third string pg

End of bench minute guy.
Solid free throw shooter for end of game situations.
With the open looks he'll get with us, he should be a knock down shooter.
Excellent passer.

Poor defense.

Even though our pace is high, there are plenty of moments in every game where you have to play half court. So he's good for that.

Yep.

Livingston's our back-up PG, so anybody we get is going to be third-string - i.e. you're looking for specific skills to fit a role. And Calderon's skills work better for what we have/need than the others'. I don't know that either Jennings or Rose would try to adapt to our style of offense, whereas Calderon will.

Just getting a solid third PG to run the offense should also allow Curry to take a couple games off and stay fresh. That's where value will show up as well.

Hmm, he's a career 41.1% shooter from 3, though he's down this year to 35.3%.

So maybe an insurance for Clark's decline in shooting.

But he's 35 ...

I hope he works out. Like you said the age is a concerning factor...I don't know how much he has left in the tank. If he can return to a +40% shooter from 3 then that would be great. If he's in the mid 30's here I don't know how useful he would be.

Matt Barnes might be necessary if KD is gonna be out for an extended period of time...unless there's some other wing out there who's better that the Warriors can pick up in this buyout market.

Barnes and Terrance Jones would be on my radar.

I actually predicted Barnes would join the team this last off-season, but the Kings jumped in there with an offer the Warriors couldn't come close to, nor would they have wanted to. Another bad business decision by the Kings.

But I'm sure based on the monetary cost that the Warriors are glad. I guess I was off by several months.

Terrance Jones must be a Looney tune or something weird because he actually has had some great games this year and he's still very young.

Wonder what the deal with this guy is?

He's telling teams he wants a role where he showcase his skills aka audition for his next contract(and get lots of playing time).

Jones doesnt need to hit the three.. he'd be a perfect 3rd big to replace mcadoo or kevin. He's MUCH better than both and is an exceptional finisher with some ballhandling abilities as well

I thought we signed Calderon off waivers? But, guess it's 'cuz of the untimely injury to KD. He'd be perfect as 3rd string PG.. Should just waive Smack-a-doo and sign both Calderon AND Barnes. Terrence Jones is just too inconsistent; probably will have a similar role to what Harrison Barnes had if he were to come here (But with better ball-handling AND crappy shooting % though).

EDIT:
Career high a few months ago against Cavs (Just sayin'...). And that block on Queen James..
