This is also going to sound weird, but this is exactly why the Lakers need to extend Randle. There is no better time to get him for the cheap, and he's got no where to go but up in terms of his skillset. The best non-rookie/non-max contracts in the league are usually signed this way - sign a guy who might do something for a long, cheap deal.
