What PG-SF pair from this draft would you like the most?

Post#1 » by Damkac » Sun Feb 26, 2017 8:57 pm

Some posters here like the idea of trading Bledsoe for another top 10 pick and drafting both PG and SF. I'm not sure if FO consider this option but IIRC they tried to trade Bledsoe for Porzingis so maybe if they like some prospect very much they would try to use Bled to get him. We know that Bledsoe is not untouchable for them.
So here is a poll just for fun: what pair of PG-SF would you like the most?
I assumed that Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Smith and probably Isaac are the top 5 and there is little chance Suns could get 2 of them. I have Tatum, Ntilikina, Monk and Fox as guys we could get from Bledsoe trade. I skipped the pairs with Fultz (probably 1st pick and would get the most votes) and those that don't make sense imo (Isaac-Fox: no playmaker).
I'm talking about the Suns team so consider how well those players fit with Booker ;)

Jackson - French Frank
Ball-Tatum

I don't think monk is a point guard, fox reminds me of Archie too much, and smith might be bledsoe in 3 years.

The most likely pairing, I think, is ball and Tatum since I don't think frank will be ready to play point guard for a few years and both Ball and Tatum look like they could step in and play a role as soon as next year.

I love Jackson and Ball. I'm hoping that Ball "plummets" down the draft board because of talking heads worrying about his shot and whatever else people like to knock him for.

If Ball isn't available, I want Jackson and Bledsoe. If Ball is available but Jackson isn't, I want Ball and Tatum.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Ball and Tatum for me as well...

Thing about Lonzo is he's a 6-6 PG with bounce and it shows in his rebounding and finishing numbers at the rim. He's at 77%, Smith Jr 66% and Fultz at 61%.

A Ball-Booker backcourt at 6'6" each would wreak havoc on smaller backcourts.

No disrespect to Ball because he's a terrific player but can someone explain why his stock is so high. I understand his passing is his selling point but to me its not enough to put him over Jackson who in my opinion, offers so much more.

I'm definitely leaning toward Jackson as well, but I think Ball will be a very good floor general who will get the most out of Chriss/Bender on the offensive side of the floor. So, in my mind, he ensures those guys perform well. As much as I like Bledsoe, and both of these guys, I think they still have bust potential. Ball would make things so much easier by his passing and his off-ball cutting. That being said, Jackson has some good cutting and passing skills of his own, while being a pretty damn good defender on the wing which we desperately need.

I voted Ntilinka and Jackson.

I think Ball is being downplayed a bit too much though. He is simply a winner with high IQ and willing his team to win. He will have his weaknesses, but I'll be real surprised if he is a complete bust.

I went jackson and french frank. Great defensive comb.

I also like the smith tatum combo if you want offense.

Jackson-Ntilikina option is winning so far and I voted for this pair too. But I would like Isaac-Ntilikina too (worse passing but better shooting).

He's 6'3 SG. Only way I'm OK with drafting him is if Suns drafts JJ too and plays Monk-Booker-JJ so JJ is point forward and Monk guard PGs but plays like SG on offense .
