Put the ball in KCP hands for the rest of the season

Post#1 » by davidvolumes » Sat Feb 25, 2017 12:53 am

Play KCP at point for the remainder of the season. He reminds me of Westbrook but would not require the same high usage. We were all amazed at his performance last night but the meat and potatoes of his game is in the pnr. In the midrange game he has similar attributes as Derozan. He can stop on a dime and elevate or strongly finish at the basket. As off guard in this offense he doesn't get enough QUALITY touches. And the bonus to KCP at point is you can start Stanley at shooting guard. Stanley is not a finished product but he is going to be a good one. That backcourt makes everyone else else better. Neither is a selfish player. Your thoughts?

He doesnt need to play point. He just needs a few more plays ran for him a la Bradley Beal.

Can't wait for the day we have a pass first pg, KCP at the 2, SJ at the 3
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Imo KCP would even be better with the ball in his hands. He has ability to make others better. We are looking outside the organization for that IT factor. KCP is IT.

Honestly, with Ish giving everyone looks in a balanced way KCP, Tobias flourished under him when Ish had to start.

As long as KCP's usage rate goes up I think we'll be fine in the long run.

Disagree. Putting a facilitator, like Ish, beside him is the way to go. I still don't trust KCP's shaky handles. He should be used like Rip

No! A PG KCP is not.

There's more to that position than just running plays and KCP isn't gonna shine there.

This is why a Rubio type (which is simply another Ish kind of guy) is the way to go

In kcp I see a mixture of Westbrook, derozan, and harden.Try not to look at him as he is today but the difference maker, franchise point guard he can become

I think starting ish would be the best thing. KCP and Harris would get more looks and that's the best thing for our offense

Might be a good idea to start Stanley over Morris here too, Mook will get more touches off the bench. Leuer seeing more minutes at center as a floor spacer is an entirely different look for us on offense, gives guys a little more space on the perimeter with the more realistic option to drive.

Ish KCP Stanley Morris Leuer with Harris coming from the bench and Baynes hustling and providing defense. That's all I want to see the rest of the season. Just get rid of Reggie's and Dre's contracts and start to build around our hardworkers core.

George Hill and Steven Adams would make this team incredible.

Cory Joseph and Robin Lopez would be the cheap option.

I love George since he's like Chauncey in a weird way but his playmaking isn't that great from what I've heard.

Ish in the push for the playoffs as a starter is fine. Pope and Stanley in the backcourt for a championship. These two guys are keys to contending for a title. Ish , Stanley and pope and the backcourt is set to contend in the east

i totally agree that KCP should be getting more touches down the stretch and it's mainly because reggie is next to useless with his knee but putting him at point takes him away from what he does best - moving off the ball around screens. he's one of the quicker players in the league for his size and it's really tough for his defenders to keep up with him while navigating screens. the fact that he's getting better with the ball once he comes off screens is even more reason to run more plays for him.

if ish is going to be playing more - which it looks like he will - then someone is going to have to step up since ish isn't the biggest scoring threat. KCP, morris and harris should be able to handle that like they did to start the year.

I agree he needs a facilitator beside him. I disagree hes a RIP-type player on Offense. Hes always been better off the dribble since his Georgia days and his handles don't seem that shaky to me and to be honest, because hes so quick and he generates such great elevation, he can create his shot merely off a one dribble pull-up. He just doesn't dribble that air out of the ball.

Kcp is greater as a pg than Reggie. Tired of Reggie and svg.

SVG deserves KCP signing qualifying offer and walk after next season.
