Imagine being one of those people who just can't enjoy Russ because of his shooting percentages.

Weird game, feels like a different player dominated each quarter.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Semaj had bad numbers but I actually didn't feel like he played terribly tonight. He took it towards the rim a couple of times instead of looking for his terrible jumper.

I really think Taj is going to be really valuable once he gets comfortable. Jerami Grant looks like he's taking his game to another level. I was not really high on him, but these last three games he's looked legit.

We haven't exactly played well after the ASB, but I'll take the wins nonetheless. It feels nice having guys actually contribute when they're on the court.

Russ was trying to shoot us out of the game in the 4th for a couple of minutes there, but then he closed it nonetheless :)

While it's pretty obvious that the Pelicans are still trying to find chemistry after the trade line, we looked like we still have a ways to go as well. Once we get Dipo back and Taj and Doug start to carve out their roles, we could actually start to see this team develop into a team no one wants to play come playoff time.

Yes, petty, meaningless things like this have a tendency to annoy me, but as a daily reader of The Ringer's "King of the Court" article, it irks me that Russ didn't win "King of the Court" or runner-up or even get a mention. I mean the narrative that the Jazz ended a five year drought of winning in D.C. and Hayward having a good game and big fourth quarter is nice, but Russ just dropped a 41 point triple-double, scored 21 points in the 4th quarter, and nastily and mercilessly posterized Cousins in an OKC win.

What more does a guy have to do to get some Ringer love?

Really upset I couldn't find a livestream on youtube for this game. I've been trying watch the games that way. Will say that two wins in a row post trade is definitely something positive. If we can somehow grab that fourth seed 8-) . Should be able to get to at least 46 wins on the season.

Call me salty but methinks this is the fault of Bill Simmons' inherent bias against OKC

I could not resist sleep around 4th qtr (5:00 a.m. here) but glad that we won. My takes:
- Russ is knowingly sabotaging the first 3 qtrs so he can be the hero in the 4th qtr. Otherwise making so many boneheaded plays is impossible for such a star caliber player.
- If Abrines is the king McDermott is the pretender. He is just plain not ready. Also he could not even synch with Taj, maybe they did not play together much back in Chicago either?
- Call me spoiled but having 2 quality bigs all this time I was not impressed with what I saw from Taj. But his presence surely lit a fire under Enes. He was racing with Taj to make blocks/screens, they even made a 2-player volleyball block in one possession.
- Refs were so bad that they even got fed up with each other at some point when none of the 2 side referees could see who touched the ball and the one under the rim made a "oh come ooon" gesture.
- Jerami Grant looked like a serviceable role player during some stretches while it was birthday of Semaj Christon (otherwise why would they give him the last ball every qtr?)
- I am glad Pelicans side did not resort to hack-a-roberson. Roberson had 0% FT% which is actually very good.
- Cousins can sleepwalk into techs. He is the heir to Harden's throne of raising your arms in disbelief and agony after every foul.
- Pelifan has a conflict of interest issue.
