At this point just put him under the knife and clean it up. Get him ready for next season. If he gets hurt again next year, let him walk. As sad as that would be, that is where i'm at.

Usually minor meniscal tears require surgery to clip it out. Would be surprised if that doesn't end up happening.

Great with our medical team he will be still recovering this time next year.

How is our medical team so incompetent? One would expect that with someone like Embiid in the team we would have the best doctors in the entire country. This is ridiculous. I'm so frustrated right now.

Joel Embiid -- The Process is now Live

Post#1350 » by agiaco » Mon Feb 27, 2017 5:05 pm

I'm convinced he can play but he's shut down for the year, which is fine at this point. Especially now that we have a new, exciting player in Justin Anderson.

Edit: ok maybe he really can't play but at least we have Justin.

Got to think he's out for the year now. So frustrating, but such is being a Sixers fan.

Either this is the most blatant tank job of all time, or we have the most incompetent medical staff in the history of professional sports. It would be comical at this point if I wasn't a 76ers fan.

We can only hope that they are basically using this as an excuse to shut him down to tank.

If it's real, then heads should roll for letting this guy play in the Houston game. I'm looking at you Bryan. And you Scott.

I agree. They probably will do some surgery in order to prevent it to getting worse in the future or something like that. After all, since Simmons can't play then what is the point anyway of having him risk making it worse? Not like we can really make the playoffs. Shame though, I loved watching Embiid improve. He was getting his explosiveness back too. I'm afraid that progress might be reverted.

In an ideal world, we shut down both Embiid and Simmons for the season. Dario Saric and Okafor continue to improve. We tank, get the first overall pick and draft Fultz, trade down with Lakers pick for Malik Monk. Embiid comes back all awesome and dandy, Simmons comes with a good jumpshot. We get the 6th seed or something.

Fultz/Monk/TJ
Monk/Covington
Covington/Simmons/
Simmons/Saric
Embiid/Okafor

All we can do is wait and see. I do find it funny that so many assumed this would happen, tho.

Clearly a cover-up for the tank. Called this a week ago that Embiid will magically get "swelling" or some "minor procedure" that'll keep him out for the year. No need to worry folks, a top 3 pick in a loaded draft will be added and we'll be fully loaded next year. The future is bright.

I dont know where I stand with all of this. Im not surprised to hear he's hurting....Its Embiid after all. But management has done a pretty **** job in being transparent with injuries and this is just another chip in the glass.

Simmons is fine, Simmons is fine, Simmons is fine.....Simmons is getting a final scan.....Simmons is out for the year.

Embiid is fine, Embiid is day to day, Embiid will play against Houston & kills it....Embiid is day to day, Embiid is progressing and we are targeting March 3 as a return, Embiid is out indefinitely, Embiid needs a MRI, Im assuming the results will be Embiid is out for the season.

Just some shady, shady stuff going on. I would have been fine with them just coming out and saying they are out for the season....Just stop dragging people along with false hope/narratives. Im still under the assumption that Simmons is ok and is simply holding out to play an entire rookie season. I hope this is just another effort to try and maintain lottery position in a season that was somewhat limited in terms or "progress" due to injuries.

The Sixers keep building fancy training grounds and all that crap in Camden. How about paying for the entire Phoenix Suns medical staff and moving them to Philly? Bunch of dimwits.
