Can we still say Wiggins sucks? He may be turning the corner becoming a good player.

Agreed.

The modern NBA is boring in comparison to where it was 20 years ago. I like that they eliminated illegal defense, but the game has become stagnant.

Teams like the Warriors, and Rockets are unwatchable, and the rules make it that teams that play like that are the best teams.

If we moved the line back it would normalize things because far fewer players would be able to hit that shot consistently.

Well here's the problem: players like Covington have no place, on offense, in a league like that. He's a fringe good three point shooter right now. That would make him an extremely mediocre three point shooter. So what else does he do on offense? Take midrange shots? It would be hard to justify Embiid ever taking a shot from 40 ft out (or however far it would be). You might think that's great, but sometimes players are left open due to good passing and now they'd have to chuck it a mile. It'd only really be a "good" shot for the elite 3 pt shooters.

I'm not saying to make it 40 ft!

I mean that it should be moved back a foot at the most.

Oof, meant to type 3 not 4. If it's a foot back, I don't think there will be much of a change, but sure, I'd do that.

As someone who liked him as a prospect, I wouldn't want him on my team regardless of his age. He's a talented but mostly empty scorer and isn't even as efficient as I'd like him to be given that it's his primary skillset. I don't think his improved 3pt shooting is real either. I think that most players of his archetype tend to be overvalued throughout their careers.

They'll figure some things out and get better. Right now their wing/PG rotation is worse than ours. Aside from Jrue Holiday they have zilch.

Overall however it's going to be a big fail even when they get some more pieces. DeMarcus Cousins is a loser. You can't build a winner around a guy who poisons the environment around him.

Kyle Lowry has surgery on his wrist, out until the playoffs.

I think that every inch you move it back, the more skill it will require to hit the shot consistently.

I'm not really sure what is practical, but they could certainly get away with moving it back a foot, and that should have a measurable increase in difficulty.

Looks like George Hill is going to hit free agency.

Anyone else wonder if the Brett Brown / Spurs connection could lure him to play for us?

I'd rather have George Hill making good money than Lowry on a max deal.

Both are the exact type of player we need

ill be watching what Utah does pretty closely

George Hill is a tremendous fit with Simmons and Saric as an off-ball PG who can defend and shoot. Depending on the price, I'm very interested. I'd go up to 4 yrs/$80M. Would prefer that versus a max for Lowry. Not sure that will get it done though. I think the Jazz will do what it take to keep him.

My FA PG rankings (not considering what they will cost us - 1st 2 obviously are a pipedream):

1) Steph Curry
2) Chris Paul
3) Kyle Lowry
4) George Hill
5) Jrue Holiday
6) Jeff Teague
7) Patty Mills

Another guy who I've always liked is Gerald Green. He had that pretty good year on Phoenix and then seemed to get buried on the bench and then went to Boston and got buried even more.

He's always struck me as someone who is a good player but seems to get stuck in situations where he can't get enough touches to prove it.

I know he's 31 years old too, but it's not like we'd have to break the bank to sign Gerald Green.

And I'd rather him than the other Gerald we have. Or Stauskas. Or Justin Anderson. Jury's still out on TLC, but he hasn't been overly impressive with his minutes.

Idk. I just want to see some sort of change to our back court in the offseason.

If we go into next year with Sauce or Henderson starting I might cry

I'd prefer to give him that $80million over 3 years. Gives us flexibility when Simmons and Saric are up for contracts. Plus I don't love committing 4 years to a soon to be 31 year old.

Yeah, but his approach is still terrible and not conducive to winning.

He's not an efficient enough offensive player to justify his high usage and volume scoring workload. He needs to take a step back from scoring and expend more energy on the defensive end.

That's what the Timberwolves need from him to become a good team and start winning.

Gerald Green is terrible. Hendo and Sauce are better than him. Not sure about Anderson yet, but he's only 23, cheap, and has time to develop. No way we bring in Green over any of these guys.

Looked pretty serious. Wouldn't be surprised if he's out for the year with a torn meniscus or even an ACL.

It would be hilarious if the GSW still won a championship.

Just how badly would that hurt Durants legacy and affect them resigning him?

Kind of a random sample of games to pick.

I don't think Wiggins will ever "suck", but he isn't turning into the defender he should theoretically be capable of and his stats are probably inflating a bit due to Lavines absence

Cavs have loaded up on veteran depth and Golden State lost their best player. Ugh oh.

So whats the line on whether or not GS puts out a real injury report or they go the sixers cloak and dagger route?

I don't get why people say that KD getting hurt makes the Warriors not favorites in the West still.

They can just slide Iguodala into the starting role and still be better than everyone out West

as much of a punk*** as he is, Draymond is still a top 3 defender in the league, and giving Steph Curry and Klay Thompson more shots doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world.

I still think the Warriors get to the finals even if KD is out for the year (which I also doubt is the case, he walked off and everything)
