What a heart-breaking game.
I can't believe Accardo balked. I couldn't believe it then; it's hard to believe now.
A balk.
A BALK?!?!
Argghhhh...

The thing that gets lost in all this is Toronto's inability to score clutch runs. Sure Hill's hit was clutch....but how many other times lately has this team just blown it when it comes to scoring runs. They'll score runs.....when they really don't need them...but when they need them.....it's like pulling teeth to score them.
JP needs to rebuild this team from the ground up IMO. Look at the Yanks/Sox. They're successful because they get good pitching...but more importantly....clutch hitting. The Jays on the other hand get either or.....never on the same night. I understand you can't be like that all the time....but come on....this is getting unreal here.
I don't think we have a .300 hitter right now, we don't steal bases, therefore we don't create scoring oppurtunites and of course, we can't throw out base stealers which makes, even an error or a walk, deadly for our catchers.
Jorge Posada for Catcher in 08....I'lkl just start the bandwagon now

Fine...whatever...my point is...bring guys in via the draft/free agency/trade that can hit in clutch situations. Get a good amateur and pro scouting team and get this team back on the right track. I'm a season ticket holder so this is very important to me...I'm paying more per year for my seats to pay unclutch hitters like Frank Thomas, Gregg Zaun and others to sit around and ground/fly out. Not to mention guys who think they're arm is fallin off (Burnett).
Godfrey is on the Fan 590 today...with Bobcat if anyone is interested @ 430-7....sometime during those times.

Yanks just turned two after 'Goggles' Phillips grounded to short with a man on third and one out.
This game is shaping up poorly right now. They're getting to Clemens but not cashing anyone in... again. Ugh.
If this gets into the 7th with the Jays up one or two, I doubt they'll take the game.
Blech. I hate how I've been infected with so much pessimism about this team. Let's see some more of those delicious change-ups, Marcum.
