Most telling quote of the interview to me was when Simmons said he didn't like how Lebron handled The Decision, and Durant said "But you don't matter." Seems like that attitude is becoming more and more common in the league as a whole, or at least less unstated than it used to be. I'm not sure how I feel about it. On a philosophical level he's right, but on a commercial/realistic level he is very wrong.

Kinda cringe-worthy when he starts telling Simmons that he's not allowed to sports-hate Roger Clemens.

How much does KD's opinion matter when OKC fans are making major life decisions? Or just deciding where to go on vacation?

Do they even bother to call him for suggestions?

I know you're being sarcastic, but this is an (IMO) false equivalency. I don't think it makes sense for Durant to basically say "I'm just an average Joe, you don't have any right to have opinions about my life. Also, brb gotta cash this hundred million dollar check." The fans wrote that check. Being a fan is all about having opinions about somebody else's life. I get it, being a celebrity probably really sucks in some ways, now more than ever. But it comes with the territory, and if he doesn't like it he should go play in the Rucker league, not preach to people that they don't have a right to do the thing that makes him insanely wealthy. It's just ass-backwards.

KD is right. He is also a very insecure individual believe it or not. This is why we see comments like this from him.

Gortat threw down Zaza when fighting for a rebound and Zaza fell into KDs knee. Hyperextension, MRI tomorrow. I'm no doctor but I doubt it's anything serious. Usually these acl/mcl injuries occur with a different unnatural flexion of the knee. His bent back awkwardly, but not that East/West bend that usually leads to major injury. I think this injury is similar to the one Michael Beasley had the other night, although he might also have a bruise because of the impact of Zaza's weight on him

All of this is just me guessing. We will see

Zaza fell into his knee. Hyper-extended, out of the game.

Also, this ends his 10+ point streak. Don't know what it was at by now.

Ouch aLeah's hate hearing about those things. I was interested to see how the crowd was going to react to him after his comment about not wanting to play there. You guys notice anything?

Signing Matt Barnes for the rest of the season (not a 10 day). Not a good sign for KD news.

Wow, I do not have a good feeling about the injury. Something about it seems off.

Hopefully it's just a minor sprain or something and the club is just being cautious with the Barnes signing. Hopefully Durant is able to suit up soon.

It does make sense for KD to just to say, "You are an average Joe, you don't have the right to make opinions about my life and I am about to cash this 100 million dollar check."

At the end of the day it is his life and he just plays basketball for a living and he happens to get paid a lot for it.

The fans didn't do anything but watch. KD is the one that got up every morning at 4 and 5 am while everybody else is sleeping for years to be this good at basketball. He did all the hard-work.

Last time I checked KD pays his taxes and the owner of the team he plays for writes his check...he doesn't owe "fans" anything. He doesn't know any of us. He probably don't care about any of us and we don't care about him. We just want him to go on the court and play...the relationship between us and him ends there.

Nobody knows KD besides his friends and family...how many hours is there of KD talking about his life...about non-basketball stuff...probably not even 24 hours.

So it's pretty ridiculous when people try to talk about his personal life when we effectively do not know him and then try to act like being a "fan" really matters in the grand scheme of things...when we just watch him play basketball.

Being fan is just enjoying the dude's game. All that other stuff is being an armchair psychologist, bully, and nosy. I don't care about what Kevin Durant does outside of basketball. I am more interested in trying to recreate him in NBA 2k17 Myplayer.

The problem isn't athlete and celebrities and entertainers...the problem is people becoming heavily invested in extraordinary people that they do not know and then trying to act like they own them because you pay an inordinate amount of attention to them. It's stalkerish.

I would still be surprised. The world awaits. Obviously this MRI is going to have a major say on the landscape of this season

Add to it that the news can come on 3-1? Eery

They are planning on signing Matt Barnes now according to reports

Everybody seems to be poking around the dark at this point. We should expect Durant to miss significant time during the RS after the Warriors quickly signed Barned but how long and how severe the injury is seems to be very much unknown to the public - and perhaps even to Durant and the Warriors as well. We should get an update any minute, though.

edit: Barnes very much confirmed the signing earlier on Instagram. He'll be introduced as a Warrior soon.

I doubt it's something serious but I have no way of knowing. I saw that mike wise tweet and thought to myself what a waste of space lol. The warriors hope his injury isn't season ending according to a source? No shiz. I have no sources, but I report the same thing. I report they aren't hoping his injury was indeed season ending

Gortat is an idiot. That fool thru Zaza into KD at the beginning of the game. I can see near the end of the game or something trying to get a rebound, but not that early on.

True. It's a waste of space just like the Woj tweet you posted coming from that perspective - of course the people close to Durant fear that the injury is severe. All it shows - assuming the tweets aren't just made up - is that nobody knows at this point. So neither can we assume the Warriors got Barnes because KD is out for a long time, nor can we be sure that KD will be fine just because the Warriors still have hopes. All we can do is wait and see, I guess.

While we don't have the real information I think the woj tweet provided much more light into the situation than mike wise's most obvious tweet of all time. He literally just tweeted the Warriors hope he's not out for the season. We obviously needed that just in case anyone thought the dubs were hoping he was gone, which I guess mike wise felt was a possible sentiment and why he needed to clarify otherwise

My guess given the flexion of the knee on impact...., anything from bone bruise/mild sprain and that keeps him out about two weeks, with worse case scenario being a torn pcl that could keep him out 6-8. I don't believe he tore an acl or mcl given the way his knee bent

You do understand that the money KD gets doesn't just come out of nowhere right? He doesn't "just happen to get paid a lot for it" - if fans weren't paying for tickets, gear, etc he would not get paid a lot. Fans are directly responsible for his fortune.
