Monta Ellis

Post#1 » by Pacers_Freak » Tue Feb 28, 2017 2:16 pm

I know he has taken some punches on here especially this year. At least I know he has from yours truly. But he has been really good as of late. Ok maybe really good compared to what he was. Either way he has been playing much better. He looks a lot fresher and is attacking the paint like the Monta from Dallas. Last 5 games he is averaging 11.8 points on 57.8% shooting and 6 assists/game. If he can continue to play like that it will be huge for this team down the stretch.

Not really, he still turns it over too much and serves as fools gold for the coaching staff.

I don't disagree with that. But he has been playing better. He only averages 2 TO a game. PG and Teague handle the ball more but are both at about 3 per game. Wasn't trying to name him to the All-NBA team or anything. I've just been rather hard on the guy and thought it was fair to point out his play has improved significantly the past couple weeks.

I just wanted to point out that he turns it over too much and that the coaching staff has no business playing Monta or Stuckey over Teague. On the other hand, after watching the game last night I think going small makes a lot of sense in a lot of situations. I have only seen us go small once or twice all year.

Teague
Ellis
Stuckey
PG
Myles

Can hurt a lot of people.

Also give Christmas some time.

Completely agree. But remember they are handcuffed a bit because PG doesn't want to "play the 4."

Well Monta cost us this game tonight missing 2 free throws with 9 ticks on the clock that would have put us up 3! But no, he missed them and we lose.

Ouch for Monta and the spurs game. You are an NBA player and a guard at that. Should be making these freebies. He has played better lately but still a ghost of the Monta Ellis from last season.

I could not believe he missed both free throws, everyone miss's one once in a while but back to back with the game on the line?

The Monta Ellis of old loved taking shots with the game on the line.

I'm still rooting for him to creep back up towards where he used to be. Maybe not Dallas level, but at least give us something comparable to last year which still pretty bad for him statistically speaking.

Monta is washed. Nothing but fools gold and I hate to sound redundant
