After watching the game tonight I've come to the conclusion that we need to break up AG and Elf. Both are shooting in the 60s % in ft %. Both are shooting in the 20s % from 3pt line. We need to pick one and trade them away this summer because there is no way this team will ever make the playoffs with 2 starters that are such embarrassingly awful shooters in 2 key positions. I prioritize trading Elf away and acquiring a starter level pg that can shoot or draft one. Elf is a PG, he is shooting 26.6% from 3 lmao. Thats embarrassing! AG is younger so I rather keep him around and see if he becomes a respectable shooter.

I'm pretty sure it became obvious that Elf won't be with this team much longer after he got benched for CJ Watson. You gotta have some major flaws to have CJ effin Watson take over your spot. Best case scenario is we keep him for a bench PG role and move DJ. I'm ok with giving EP the Shawn Livingston role.

Is there anyone other than Vogel that really believes Elfrid deserved to be benched for CJ Watson? Are we really going to act like he hadn't been our teams best player of the season up to that point? Elfrid is not the reason this team sucks.

For me the roster is failed because a lack of high quality scoring at the SF slot. Bringing in a 40$ 3-ball shooter that averages 3 a game would free up Gordon and Payton to focus on their games (neither are intended to be scorers).
Let's say Orland gets the overall #6, then (S-and)-trading that and Fournier for Porter makes good sense to me. It makes much more sense than trading away either Payton or Gordon.

they both are always going to be more potential than consistent impact. been saying that for awhile now, but everyone poo-poo's anyone who criticizes either player

you saying trade #6 and Fournier for Porter? seems like an overpay to me. Porter is good but not great, and is going to cost a lot this off season. Give him a big contract, Washington might not even match it. And if Fournier cant work as a SF here, he wont work as one in Washington also

I think that is the perfect role for him. Elfrid is a valuable role player, but he is not starter quality in this league yet. He has come a really long way with his shooting in the midrange an the free-throw line, but he still needs to be able to score from 3 point range to be effective in this league. Hopefully, we are able to draft a guard who can just go supernova on offense like Fultz or Smith.

If Porter would outright agree to an inflated deal, say 4 years at 100M, then yes that frees up Fournier as a trade asset and allows Orlando to retain its pick. I am not sure what Washington would do in that though.
(Yes I do think players like Porter will routinely get deals well north of 20M a year; sad, sad, sad).

Re: Post Season Decision Time: Acquire a SF and send Evan to the Bench?
I'm willing to wait until the end of the season to see which of our SG's needs to be the 6th man. Last night we saw Ross against a team that actually attempts to play defense and there was a noticeable difference in aggression and production. The board gets mighty quiet on nights that Evan's the best player on the court though...I noticed that.
There's nothing wrong with the 6th man role by the way. People that don't understand that sometimes it's better for a player to be the 6th man and get increased usage don't understand basketball.
I read someone say that moving Biz will be easy....I definitely disagree with that. Teams weren't throwing 17 million at him to begin with...that's why we ended up with him. He's simply not worth that price tag. And hell no to Otto Porter. Take him away from John Wall and he's a 11 PPG guy. Can't create on his own. Get's lost on offense often. No thanks. Rather grab a rookie if we can.

Unless we get a top 2 pick, I doubt we draft a PG. I have a feeling were gone pick a SF on there draft and either sign or trade for a veteran PG not s rookie that is gonna takes another 2-3 years to develop into starter quality.

Same feeling. I can see Rob taking Tatum or Isaac (or Jackson if he is still on the board).

You know you won't really be able to have a decent discussion about this because people see you as EP's fanboy. I do think this is a valid question though. Everyone was shocked, even the radio personalities that are NOT high on Elfrid thought it was peculiar.
Elfrid is an interesting dude to watch. He plays the quiet role. I remember smirking when he tweeted "Being low key is a skill". I have a feeling he isn't so quiet once he knows you. He may have a little of that Rondo thing in him maybe, that he thinks he knows what is best and wants to run things his way. (I just wonder why coach isn't working with Evan on the same ish since he, to ME, seems to make bad decisions all the time and gets applauded.)
I do not think it is Elfrid being picked on anymore (i did). I do not think it is about his play level because Elfrid has outplayed every guard that has come here. Something is missing in this story. It seems like they are trying to make Elfrid approach the game differently and therefore do things differently and he isn't doing it. I don't just mean he should attack because coach said specifically how he loves that EP can get to the paint anytime he wants, but what he does in there is what they are working on. I mean, if you have given up on a player, why are you investing time in working with them and trying to get them to improve? It does not add up to me, especially when it would benefit you to lose now. If you didn't see them in the future you really wouldn't gaf if they get it or not. I am super speculating of course but just throwing it out there for thought.
