I just don't know what games you are watching if you truly believe he is being guarded closely for his mid range and beyond shooting game. That's all I can really say about this.

The reason is obvious. Opponents are more afraid of his drives than his Midrange game.
But still more attention than his rookie seasons. Even far from the paint.
Still more shots than rookie season.
Still no 3sec open Looks now.
Still better shooting Form.
No progression. Wondering what you self claimed Giannis Fan want to prove

All ive said is that he gets no respect on his jumper because its still not worth defending against. You're really putting a lot of words in my mouth. Its not even just my opinion its fact and every single game he plays it gets brought up by whoever is announcing the game that his jumper needs work. I don't know why you're so offended by this.

Questioning my 'Giannis fandom' because I am realistic and honest about where he is at is funny.

My Problem is people acting like his shot has getting worser than his rookie years. Thats just Not true

Drives an SUV, spends his time mostly working out, doesnt go out much, and when he does he takes his girlfriend out to greek restaurants.... with his parents
I mean I hate to say this but the dude is kinda boring to be honest LOL

Oh and he says when there's time he likes to take his girlfriend (with his parents) and drive down to Chicago for the day.

4th Season:
Except Jordan (3rd season, more fair)

In order of highest to lowest:

PTS/TS%:
1. Michael Jordan: 46.4 on 56.2 TS%
2. LeBron James: 35.3 on 55.2 TS%
3. Tracy McGrady: 34.5 on 52.1 TS%
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo: 33.0 on 61 TS%
5. Scottie Pippen: 24.3 on 52 TS%
6. Magic Johnson: 21.1 on 60 TS%

PER:
1. Michael Jordan: 29.8 PER
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo: 26.5 PER
3. Tracy McGrady: 24.9 PER
4. LeBron James: 24.5 PER
5. Magic Johnson: 23.0 PER
6. Scottie Pippen 20.6 PER

WS/48:
1. Michael Jordan: .247
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo: .214
3. Magic Johnson: .207
4. LeBron James: .206
5. Tracy McGrady: .189
6. Scottie Pippen: .179

BPM:
1. Michael Jordan: 8.6
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo: 8.1
3. LeBron James: 7.4
4. Magic Johnson: 7.4
5. Scottie Pippen: 6.3
6. Tracy McGrady: 5.6

Keep in mind every team/era is different and average efficiency was lower pre-2000s because of the rules, but Giannis is among the greats at the moment. Also, only LeBron & McGrady are comparable in age.

Looking over the numbers (per100):
Currently 1st in FTr and 3rd in FTAper100
5th in OBPM (Previously 2nd)
1st in DBPM
4th in AST and 3rd in AST% (right below LeBron now)
1st in RPG
4th in SPG
1st in BPG and BLK%
3rd in FT%
2nd worst in TOV and worst in PF
4th in USG%
4th in 3PT%

Numbers are settling in now, dropped from around 9.2 BPM to 8.1 and dropped in OBPM since that 35 or so game mark. Still having an historically great season for his age that is only surpassed by 23 year old MJ and on par with LeBron. TOVs and PFs slightly dropped and right around where LeBron is at now. Sad we don't get to see a Giannis with 30+ USG rate, him being 4th in USG% is criminal (not even top 20 in NBA at the moment for usage).

Not sure where else to put this. When was the last time something this was done for the Bucks?

Giannis is likely going to join Oscar as the only other 22-year old player to put up a 23/8/5 season. Of the players to put that up, the following had better TS:

LeBron (age 28 and 32)
Wilt (age 30)
Jordan (age 25)
Durant (age 27)
Kareem (age 31)
Bird (age 30)

Kareem (age 28) was the only other to do it with 1.5+ STL and 1.5+ BLK.

To me, the next discussion is, with how good Giannis is, how do we even have the possibility of missing the playoffs?

Just looking at some stud forwards throughout history:

LeBron age 22: 50 wins
Durant age 22: 55 wins
KG age 23 (age 22 was shortened season): 50 wins
Bird age 23 (rookie): 61 wins
Barkley age 22: 54 wins
Pippen age 22: 50 wins

Now, I know the argument may be, "he's not as good as those players", but Giannis is clearly a superstar now and statistically by literally every advanced stat he's having a All-NBA Year, and he's clearly on the trajectory that those guys were. Yet we probably win around 38 games. I get some of it is MIddleton's injury, but it really highlights how poor of a job our front office has done. If you have a player like Giannis, the baseline should be 45 wins, minimum regardless.

Injuries (to his teammates) and coaching have been his biggest obstacles.

Plus the team is better when he's playing defense, which he wasn't really doing in January or February.

Even if his jumper was "worth defending against" in a vacuum, people would still lay off him and pack the paint because it's a disaster when he gets to the rim. Letting Giannis get to the rim is the equivalent of giving Steph an open 3. Preventing it is the central priority of your defense.

He'll become the only NBA player ever to have at least 1,500 PTS, 700 REB, 400 AST, 130 BLK, and 130 STL in a single season if he just gets 22 more steals in the last 20 games.

Only guys that even came close to that were Kareem and KG.
