When asked if he wouldn’t mind competing in the NBA Skills Challenge, he quickly replied with a “Yes” and said, “I want to be in the 3-Point contest. I’m putting this on record.”

I can appreciate the confidence, and the drive that Aaron presents with this comment. But similar to when Andre Drummond stated that his game was "like Kevin Durant's", I'm wondering if AG doesn't have the greatest self awareness of what he should become in this league.

Thoughts?

AG has shot below 30% from 4 of the 5 3pt contest zones each year he's been in the league.... he's way too far off to even think about participating.

There have been so many hollow proclamations by members of the franchise this year. I'm numb to it. Good for Aaron though; no problem with having lofty goals for oneself. I just ain't buying it.

Dude hasn't made a 3 since February 13th. The closest he got to a 3 in 3 weeks was on a judge's scorecard in the dunk contest.

Nah, I don't want to get rid of him yet. There's one player that gives me hope for a path that Gordon might follow...

I've obviously come down on my hopes that Gordon would one day become a star player (He just doesn't show the natural scoring attack mentality that is needed). But if he can be a good starter around a true super star, then he helps make the Magic an exciting team to cheer for.
