Would be the best thing for Russell. In my opinion, he's a shooting guard, not a point. He passes when he can't get his own shot, not to get you yours in the best spot possible. Ball passes the ball forward so quickly, D'Angelo would love to cherrypick, leak out and receive those passes.

That's what most guys are anymore. Sooner than later, we won't even really call guys point guards or shooting guards, there will just be guards who can create and distribute, and those who cant

Suns win which is a good thing as it moves us closer to them in the standings but a bad thing in that it puts them into a tie with the Lakers for the second worst record. The Blazers win dropping the Kings into a 3 way tie with the Knicks and Wolves for the 8th worst record.

Also this thread has reached 100 pages so the mods might want to start a new one.

Kings movin on up, up up.

6th seems like a virtual lock. Since they are basically tied with a few teams at 25 wins, I don't see how the Kings finish with a better record the rest of the way than either of those teams, and the two teams with 24 wins should also finish at least 1 or 2 games better than the Kings the rest of the way.

The question is will the Kings surpass the Sixers or Magic. I think it's possible, but I'd put it slightly less than 50/50.

One thing I actually believe is we have a real chance to supass the Phenix Suns. Not like the Lakers they actually played better than their records indicated. And Sac will be fall to the bottom six eventually since they have no motivation to win any more games.
The bottom 3-6 battle is now open for Suns , Kings , Sixers and Magic

It's possible we catch the Suns but I'm not banking on it. It's far less likely we catch the Lakers though. The match-up against them on the 12th will be huge.

Even if we end up using our swap rights with the Kings this year, they will still probably end up with a top 5 or 6 pick in ours thus they have all the reason in the world to tank.

Big game tonight for our tank. If we lose to the Knicks we will put a lot of distance between them and us. I also think the Lakers may beat the Celtics tonight. The Celtics see coming off a big emotional win from the other night and then fly to Cali. They probably had a great night last night and may be off their game. Hopefully the Lakers can pull it out. New Orleans needs to start winning.

Ball, Russell and Ingram all have great length but all of them lack the size and strength to actually defend anyone, man-up.

It'd be cool in that they would lose a lot of basketball games and we would get a sweet pick.

Naaa. You don't want them to get that.

If the Lakers get Lonzo Ball, they're not going to just sit there and lose, knowing they owe the 76ers their pick in 2018. They'll just trade Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle to the Pacers to get Paul George a year early, since the Pacers know he intends to sign with the Lakers anyway. And even after acquiring a Paul George, they'll still likely have close to 20 million available under the salary cap. The Lakers aren't going to play a lineup of all-under 23 year olds in a year that they don't own their pick. They'll easily be able to field a team of Lonzo Ball, D'angelo Russell, Paul George, Larry Nance, plus a good Free agent.

Point is, the Lakers getting to keep that pick one more season opens up easy possibilities for them to get significantly better next year. Without much effort from the new front office. And they won't have the incentive to do another undercover tank, like they've done the last 3 years, because they know they don't have the pick.

Nurkic was a franchise-saving acquisition for Portland. What an idiotic trade for Denver.

I meant more that a team running a 3-2 as their base defense in the NBA would be really dumb.

I didn't understand it then, and I still don't understand it. How a team can look at Plumlee and think that he's worth Nurkic (a better player than Plumlee) AND a first rounder is beyond me.

Mason is an impending RFA, as well. And yet, Olshey got a good return while BC... well, not so much.

I would have taken Nurkic Straight-up for Okafor without the pick, if I knew that Denver valued him so little. I never imagined was a possibility though.
The Nuggets did basically the same thing with Nurkic that the 76ers did with Noel. They let their negative emotions about the player impact how they valued him and they made a bad deal to get rid of him.

Loving this new development in LA. Hoping a protracted and embarrassing legal battle ensues.

Holy Lakers Dysfunction!

Will these poor, mislead draft prospects still be duped by their agents into wanting to play for the Knicks or Lakers?

A win tonight changes things on the Sixers and Magic catching the Kings. I'll go from sightly under 50/50 to right on 50/50.

Bravo~!! we beat the knicks!! What a great way to close this draft thread .….. not.
We had the best chance of surpassing the magic knowing their unexpected win but failed to execute.. so we chose to stay at 5th.
Meanwhile the lakers with the new management did their due diligence to sneak into 2nd pick as the suns finally rised..

Who win in the end? Now we can only pray on draft night that two teams could leap pass the-world-favourite lakers.. :(
