I don't want him to change his game to accommodate role players. I'm just saying that he could lose some of those really inefficient poorly selected shots he's taking (at least a few a game), and instead trade it for more efficient FGs setting up his teammates since he draws double and triple teams on a consistent basis.

I get the fascination with averaging the triple-double for the whole season. I just have no doubt that OKC with a 27/12/7 Westbrook would be a slightly better team than with a 30/10/10 Westbrook. But again, that's just my opinion.

Teammates still suck, brah. And how is getting fewer rebounds going to help?

He's got enough to work with to create some better shots either for himself or for his teammates compared to some of those awful inefficient shots he's taking. And not chasing for every single rebound to get that record would save some of his energy, for sure. On defense he's literally flying in every single time and trying to snatch those freebie rebounds. On offense he's doing a similar thing but I don't mind it because that could actually result in a new possession, where as most of his defensive boards are snatched from in front of his bigs. That unnecessary movement and jumping a ton of times add up to exhaustion, which leads to laziness and bad shot-selection in the crunch time.

He's been the best player in things league in crunch time and we score significantly more efficiently after he grabs a defensive rebound.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
