Ok, we have SG-SF of the future some what locked down with Richardson, Hield, and Bogdan. We have Center with WCS and Papa. We need a PG and depth at the 4. Say we get a guy like Frank Ntilikina with our first pick to address PG along with a Vet.
It's between Markkanen and Robert Williams to add to the 4 position. Who do you take?
BPA.
Isaac #6. Ntilikina #8.

To the people that answered BPA, of course. I'm asking who do you think is better overall or for us between Markkanen and Williams?
From what I've seen --
Williams gives off a high-energy, physical 4 that shows flashes on offense. While, Markkanen has a polished offensive game with a great jumper but his length and physicality leaves a lot to be desired.
Williams has a push shot around the rim -- not a hook shot. This tells me he has some touch around the rim. Also, he has some range at the mid-range as well. I've seen him hit mid-range shots before. That being said, he is a below-average rebounder. He kind of reminds of Willie in the aspect of not locating his man and boxing out. Williams uses his great length to alter many shots around the rim and has the ability to guard P&R schemes -- due to his very good agility and length. He's still very raw in the mental aspects of basketball but if he manages to figure things out -- I could see an Ibaka-like potential here.
Markkanen is different from Williams. Markkanen has below-average physical attributes and he's doesn't operate/move as well -- this kinda kills his defensive potential a bit. That being said, this guy is probably the best big man shooter in college basketball in years. His shooting is that good (according to the numbers). Other than his shooting, his scoring is fine but kind of methodical themed. The only problem is that if his shot isn't falling, it feels like the team is playing 4v5 on the court. He doesn't provide much ball-handling/playmaking game nor has much game inside the mid/post ranges.
I guess, given what we have right now -- Skal, Papa G, Willie. I could see Vlade favor Markkanen over Williams due to his ability to space the floor. But I do really like Williams though. If he manages to clean and polish his game, I could see an Ibaka-like player in the future. People compare Markkanen to Dirk but Dirk is a legit HOF and it would be insanely difficult for Markkanen to reach Dirk's level -- while I give Williams a better chance to reach Ibaka's level.
