Not sure I've seen a more brutal line this season than that of Al-Farouq Aminu last night...0-for-5, 5 TOs, -25 in an OT loss.
Who wants to go dumpster diving for our worst stat line this season? Bet we can top that one.

Kris Dunn probably rivals him the most. 1-7, 3 TRB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 5 TO, 2 PTS
Aminu was 0-5, 6 TRB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK, 5 TO, 2 PTS
Dunn made a basket, but I'm thinking he is worse.

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
Oh maybe this Andrew Harrison game does it.
1-6, 2 pts, 1 TRB, 1 AST, 3 TOs, and fouled out in 20 minutes.

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
Pre-1/1/2017: Q4 ORTG = 105.3, 14th overall, Q4 DRTG = 103.1, 6th overall
Post-1/1/2017: Q4 ORTG = 104.9, 23rd overall (to keep our 14th ranking our ORTG would need to go up to 107.6), Q4 DRTG = 107.0, 13th overall
Relative to the rest of the league, our Q4 offense is a greater problem than our defense. Matches the eye test.

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
That doesn't read to me to make the point he's trying to make, given that our net rating with CZ + MKG is higher than Frank + MKG.

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
Zeller plays with MKG his rating is worse. Frank plays with MKG his rating is improved. Zeller + MKG still better than Zeller + Frank, doesn't mean that Zeller wouldn't be better off w/out MKG.
Comment only based on tweet, nothing more. I realize lots of moving parts involved.

Point being, according to stats as presented, MKG makes Frank better and Zeller worse.

I guess I was more analyzing from the perspective of trying to retain Frank as a C in the starting lineup.
Yeah, I just think there is too little data there for that to be meaningful to me. How many minutes are we talking about here? Would look it up but feeling lazy.
Also an obvious question is what is the net rating with all three?

Could be the non-sexy explanation of lineup construction and other confounding variables.
IE 1's v 2's, sample size, lack of shooting elsewhere, or that Cody almost never plays without Kemba. It's also possible we're measuring MKG @ PF compared to MKG @ SF but MKG doesn't play PF with Cody.
And problematically, the past 2 seasons Cody and MKG are +9.0 together which = San Antonio Spurs. Cody without MKG? +5.9

F.Kaminsky, M.Kidd-Gilchrist, C.Zeller - 189 minutes - 106.6 - 99.5 (+7.1).

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
While I agree with the general notion I disagree with tweeting selective on/off numbers.
Playing devil's advocate, why isn't Cody spacing the floor? Cause Cody doesn't handle the rock, distribute, play more than 1 position, post up, defensively switch 4 positions, or positionally rebound like MKG. You'd think a guy with Zeller's stroke would at least demonstrate a functional stationary 3-point shot.
BTW I'm not hammering Zeller. Far from it - I've been a Zeller advocate since day 1 but framing on MKG's offensive limitation (singular) is a little out of hand.
As is the narrative for Zeller's on/off numbers. In reality, it's about the "off" (depth, injuries, when Kemba rests).

Being a rim runner who sucks in defenders is also a form of spacing.

Absolutely. Just an observation, really - if there's a choice I'd focus on Zeller's range over MKG. It's the easier fix and presents a higher ceiling across the board.
IE for pragmatic reasons Nic and Cody run their downhill action early in clocks. Cody subsequently clearing with a PnP option would matter, esp. defensively with an attacking PG like Kemba and Clifford foregoing OREBs.

This is a point that really deserves more discussion. We've been so fixated on MKGs jumper over the years and kinda forgotten about Cody's struggles, especially since he move to center. There is definitely something to be said about the value of Cody developing 3 range over MKG. Ideally, both get there eventually, but Cody seems to be the more likely of the two to get to that point. Cody has been banged up with injuries the last few summers, same as MKG, also preventing him from having max time to work on range.

Re: Fun with Stats!!!
Post-ASB, CHA ranks 4th in ORTG, 17th in DRTG, and 7th in net rating. We also rank 25th in pace.
