Fournier vs oladipo
At last year's draft Rob made a critical decision to trade Victor Oladipo to OKC for Ibaka, essentially choosing Evan over Victor. I was just looking at Victor and Evans stats and was wondering how everyone feels about the decision to go with Evan over Victor. Let's leave the trade itself out of the conversation. I know some people hated it, some felt it worked out good in the end. Who knows how it will ultimately play out. Victor and Evan both play the same position. They both score about the same so far this year. Their minutes and shooting percentages are both very similar. They're both the same age. Actually I didn't realize that Evan is a little younger than Victor until tonight. This season the biggest difference between them is money as Victor is on the last year of his rookie deal, but he's already signed an extension for the future. So going on in the next 4 years Evan will cost 17 million/year compared to Victor at 21 million/year. Did Rob make the right choice?

Re: Fournier vs oladipo
I think Fournier signed a 5 year/$85 million deal.
It has been a wash, IMHO. Fournier's efficiency dipped a bit this season, but I think it's mostly due to increased role and his play has tailed off since the foot injury.

Re: Fournier vs oladipo
Terrence Ross at $10M a year.
I don't hate Fournier like a lot of others do. I think he's got game and still has potential to become a much better player than he is.
As it's been said before, Vogel hasn't charged anyone on the team with leadership full time. He's given Fournier the most opportunity on that front, and I don't think he's doing a great job. But as a 3rd option he'd be very good. Put him on the Warriors, Clippers, Rockets, Spurs or even the Bucks and people would see how valuable he can be.
But we aren't built like ANY of those teams. So right now, he's struggling.
As for Oladipo, he is what he is. At his best he'll be an Igoudala like 6th man bringing fantastic energy off the bench.

Depends on whose already on your roster... But none of them are exactly lighting the world up right now so I would say neither...

Yes it was a 5 year/ $85 million deal. This is year 1. Leaving 4 more years. Oladipo's 4 year deal starts next season. Hence the question: Victor for the next 4 years at 21 million/year or evan for the next 4 years at 17 million/year.

I kind of wanted to include ross in the poll but I was more curious about a straight up answer between evan and victor.

Re: Fournier vs oladipo
IDK, they're both about the same. Oladipo is more athletic and more high-energy, so I guess I'd kind of what him more.
Stats showed that Fournier was more efficient next to Payton last season, so it made sense, but at this point I don't see Vic, Fournier, OR Payton as high-end starters in this league so what difference does it really make?
Either way, at least Fournier is on a friendlier deal.

fournier is easier to fit in to a winning team than oladipo in my opinion. oladipo would probably be better on a bad team though

it wasnt Evan vs Dipo, it was Evan + IBaka vs some other combination. He took a chance that that combo would spur further growth.

Re: Fournier vs oladipo
Fournier, some people would say it's a big contract, but you see guys like Crabbe making more money than him.
In fact, IIRC, there were reports he had a better deal in place, but chose Orlando instead.

Re: Fournier vs oladipo
I voted Fournier because he is better value on his contract.
But think I'd still rather have Vic personally. Liked Fournier better last year but this year's version of Fournier... id rather have Ilyasova/Jennings.

Dipo's defense to go with Ross at the 3 would be a great back court tandem.

It would not because Ross is not a SF.

Ask any Raps fan about him playing SF. He's not a SF and will not be for us.

Evan is 6'7 and has played a lot of small forward for Orlando is he a small forward?
The reality is they're shooting guards but their teams don't have very much talent at small forward so they improvise. Rather obvious neither is a small forward lol.
