Not exactly. But, your prediction of Romo going for something like a 1st & your Myles Garrett/ JJ Watt fantasy does sound pretty cray cray.

Even though K.C said they are not interested in Romo, Romo has stated he has high interest in going there. I wonder how that will play out as well.

Sure wish I could find a transcript of David Moore's conversation on the Ticket yesterday afternoon. In a nutshell - Romo and Garrett haven't talked since the end of the season.

I guess the $100 mil+ he's been paid wasn't enough.

So - you aren't in favor of giving the guy a chance to hook on with a team in time for OTA's to learn a new system...

Jerry did him right. And effective 6/1, the Cowboys can do what they do every year which is look at those second-tier FA's still available. I don't understand your problem with them releasing him now. He has no trade value.

No I'm not. I root for the Dallas Cowboys, not the Dallas Tony Romo's. they need to do what's best for the team not the guy they've already given over $100 mil to. Just like Nate Newton says "this is show BUSINESS, not show FRIENDS.

Dallas had to pull the trigger now. Either release or find a trade partner right away. Holding out doesn't do them any good. Upsets the player (Romo) & is just a bad look for the franchise in regards to its own players & potential free agents. Agents & players don't want to deal with teams that **** around. Otis is right. He really didn't have any trade value.

His trade value would be higher as camp got closer. Just like the Vikings last year, a team will lose their QB and would have offered up at least a mid round pick for Romo. Cutting him now only benefits Romo, not the Cowboys.

This isn't about friends. This is about $14M in salary cap relief on June 1. As Jerry has said more than once or twice around here... don't let your money get mad.

The difference is Landry would have gotten something for Romo. Jerry is so buddy, buddy with Romo he can't treat this transaction as bottom line business.

Bradford was still the starter in Philly at that time. Different circumstance. Teams needing a QB, address it through FA & the draft. Romo wouldn't have any takers if the team held out til June or later. Then you have a pissed off Romo & an agent that doesn't want to do future deals with the team. Dallas did the right thing here. They're still going to save money against the cap & No ill will between the player & team.
