Oh, and btw, they're still missing 2 starters.

Yeah? And Miami was missing their best man defender and their two best bench players...by the way.

There's also that other player who is still under contract with the team. Chris Something.

Cool. Good luck not getting swept in the first round.

Thanks. Next time do your research before making excuses for a team losing.

miami 20-4 last 24 games. Miami have also been the best 3 point shooting team since Jan. They are also 1st in defense with giving up the least 4rth quarter points and 1st in defense fg percentage and 3rd in defending the 3s .

If Bosh hadn't had his career destroyed by injury they would have a great shot at getting to the ECF.

Hope Miami AND the Bucks get the final 2 spots. No one wants to (or at least no one should want to) watch the trash ass bulls or pistons get swept in boring fashion against the top 2 seeds. At least the bucks youd get to see giannis, brogdon, and middleton play. And the heat are compelling with Dragic in all star form. waiters is the next nba superstar, and whiteside is a beast.

He contributes nothing when it comes to the Heat. Since day one, no point responding to that guy.

dead serious, if they grab the 7th or 6th seed, would anyone be surprised if they made the ECF? they've won 20 of their last 24 and show no signs of slowing down at all, if they stay like this they're going to beat anyone in a series besides the cavs

I just posted this in the "Would you be convinced" thread in reference to the NBA setting up a Miami/Cle first round playoff series:

I think this post is really disrespectful and tasteless considering the job that Spo has done down in Miami. I'm a diehard Knicks fan, so I hate the Heat more than anybody here, but to go from being the worst team in the NBA, and having the mindset as a coach to keep your guys with the belief that this is a long season... and look 2/3 months later, my Knicks have fallen out, and the Miami Heat have jumped in. But I will say this, because this is my motto and this point... I would rather lose games going forward. And I typically would not say that... but if you're a true diehard of your team.. about 27 other team fans should be saying the same thing. Because CLE is going to the NBA finals... and so is Golden State or San Antonio... so shouldn't the rest all be playing for ping pong balls? Cause I sure as hell hope my Knicks are.

That being said, Spo is an underdog Coach of the Year IMO, hats off to what he has been able to do with that team.

Yes, I quoted myself.

Still wished they would've kept the tank rolling for Fultz. But getting swept in the first round seems to be our destiny. :D

The only team I can see us taking in the first round is Washington. Boston and Toronto are too talented.

I'd definitely be surprised.

We're winning a lot of games on grit alone. In Playoffs everyone is going to be gritty. We don't have the talent to match Celtics, Raps or Wizards.

If you don't believe in Dion "Badboy" Waiters and just don't see how underrated the Heat are, then there's something seriously wrong with you. :wizard:

Enough of this Haterade. This is one hell of a story and great for the league.

which playoff spot can the Heat get? I think they have the chance for 6th or even for the 5th.

it is easy to say that they should have tanked instead. but obvious tanking requires non-nba players like aldemir, sampson, sims or marshall. where are all they now? out of nba. you cant tell hassan whiteside to play less effort or goran dragic to make purposeful turnovers. you cant tank with hassan whiteside and goran dragic. and other pieces such as waiters, ellington and johnson seem like they found the atmosphere that they can prove themselves. not to mention their youngsters are solid, too. so with this squad it is no surprising for competing for a playoff spot in the east. imagine if they had bosh and winslow. it is the perfect time to be a heat fan these days.

I don't expect this team to get out of the first round, though anything is possible. I can certainly say this, though; I would imagine they'd be the last team a top 4 seed would hope to get in the first round.

Yeah, definitely. I wasn't that high on him myself, but this run is nothing short of amazing. The Heat has some decent talent, but they are basically playing like an absolute elite team for like two straight months now. That does not happen without top-notch coaching.

I really wish some sort of miracle happens and Miami has a deep play off run, just to confuse the crap out of everybody, until they start to actually think and maybe understand the value of defense, team effort and smart coaching.

I'm tired of people adding up "talent" in their heads and concluding that's all it takes to make a basketball team.

The Heat deserve recognition only for making waiters look like a real bball player.
