I actually kind of like your squad. Love Isaiah. Some decent young players. Danny Ainge has done a good job.

Lebron vs C's could be return of his biggest Eastern Confernce rival....

Tony should probably go Texans , his best chance to win at this point.

Yes. That is the non-guaranteed portion of his 2017 salary had he still been on the roster 6/1. Any team trading for him would have to had absorbed that. So - in the cases of Houston and Denver, they would have to renegotiated his contract.

That alone would have increased his trade value. If trade before June 1st a team would have had to clear a lot more than $5.1 mil. The Cowboys cleared $5 mil by reworking Sean Lee's contract. Even the Broncos or Texans could have easily cleared $5.1 mil (post June). Again the ONLY reason to cut Romo now would be to "do right by Tony".

You're missing the point. By him not being on the roster 6/1, the Cowboys will have $5.1M more available to them at that point than if he were on the roster. It has nothing whatsoever to do with any other team reworking anything. If they waited to trade him in August, they would have to carry that $5.1M of his salary into training camp. Plain and simple - the Cowboys will use that $5.1M as soon as they can in June on available FA's.

I don't think I can explain it better than that. They need his salary. Period. And if that means "doing right by Tony", so be it.

So after cutting Romo they will have about $13 mil in cap space right? How much do they have to se aside for the draft picks, $6 mil? That leaves them with $7 mil. Assuming they would actually spend the money (even though Stephen had said he doesn't like signing others team's players) who exactly are they going to get for $7 mil?

My point is, you're explication only works if they are bringing in quality FA's. Since that isn't their plan the extra $5 mil doesn't mean crap. Once again Jerry is letting his emotions to get the better of him and it's hurting the team.

And their defense is arguably better than Denver's. But there's still the matter of all that money they owe Brock Lobster....

Houston is definitely a better situation if Tony's end game is to win a title. Before the end of the season though one of the guys on one of the teams podcasts was saying that Tony really prefers to go to Denver because of John Elway. After Favre, Elway was his favorite player and after his playing career is over Tony would prefer to be a GM rather than a coach. He wants to build his own team (like Elway) and would love to go to Denver to be close to Elway and learn from him. Don't know how much truth is in that but it does make sense.

Sounds like Houston realized the only shot that had a getting Romo is to trade for him. Team is likely giving Denver the option to beat Houston's offer. Speculation is that Dallas would swap 1st round picks (and maybe late round pick) for Romo. What pick does Houston have? Denver has the 20th pick.

Adam Schefter just reported that Osweiler and picks was traded to Cleveland. They've cleared the deck for Romo.

^ I see you were watching Duke/Louisville

Texans just traded Osweiler and a 2nd rd pick next year to Cleveland for a 4th round pick this year

You don't do that unless you are confident you can sign Tony Romo IMO

Romo to Houston

Honestly I think Houston won that deal even without being able to sign Romo

Osweiler is a bum

And - they get out of that contract. That alone would probably qualify them as a winner in all this.
