Show flashes, give'm hope, scramble for loose balls... but DONT WIN GAMES!

Last nights win was upsetting. Had we lost a hurt fought game while giving a ton of effort, fans would be excited.

I know its harder then it sounds, because all of those things help win games, but damnit where was all that hustle a 2 months ago!

Enlighten me on how you would effectively tank in a season. For me it would be to give CJ, DJ and JG enough minutes to counteract the good that our younger core provides. Or throw out lineups that you are "experimenting with" Payton might work at center with his rebounding skills... pretty much a lot of things people complain about on here. lol

Phillies strategy is obvious... put together a team filled with players on 1 leg for at least their first season or euros that don't wanna come over for a couple years so that the team will not get better in the moment....

Lakers just... I don't know what their deal is.

Brooklyn is just devoid of true talent.

Phoenix is apparently figuring things out now.... and I hope they continue in order that they pass us as well.

We talk about tanking... but i just want to know what people would like to see happen in order to attain it. Because if our team is playing well and clicking ... you can't just say " Hey fournier.... miss shots so that we can get a better pick and fine someone to draft that is really good and we can trade you to Milwaukee in the offseason" lol. The only person i can see that happen with is Jeff green.... "you're paid $15 mill to do what we ask you too, you're gone this offseason no matter what"

Right now the Orlando Magic are in what is called the NBA Abyss. They literally have no chance at winning a championship with this group of players, yet they are not bad enough to land a superstar prospect and they have tied up brand new contracts (Fournier/Biyombo) on 2 players who are not good enough to carry this team... No star players want to take our money in FA. ...and we don't have that much to spend anyways. On top of that, they have extensions to give out soon to you players like Payton and Gordon who haven't shown they can be stars. They drafted a player who's upside might be a 6th man in Hezonja with the 5th pick while other players drafted after him look to be on the track to having much better careers.

You are asking me what I'm hoping for??? I'm hoping to get a star in the draft because what we have is a team of poor to mediocre talent. Everytime this team wins (and it's not often enough), we get the band playing music again like we have some legitimate hope to get to the playoffs! All we are doing is dropping our spot in the lottery to ensure a longer stay in this abyss.

We needed to trade Fournier now that we have Ross. We have seen how inconsistent Ross has been, but he's playing out of position and he's being asked to do more than he should. He should be a spot up shooter at the 2 spot. He's NOT going to turn into T-Mac with more minutes and finally out of the shadow of DeRozan and Lowry. That was ya'lls pipe dream, but I hope you see more clearly now. I'd dump Fournier for expirings at this point. We need to trade Vucevic too. He's an old school style C who is lumbering and slows this team down. We don't have the shooters to play a half court game where we dump it in to Vuc on every play and wait for him to pass it out when he's in trouble. We are soooooooooo much better being a fast pace team.

Dump the old slow identity and adopt a faster paced team and tank to get a star prospect.

We are not getting one. May as well develop one by building team players who know how to win.

Anyways, Elf has decided to make sure we don't tank since he don't think this team needs to draft another PG.

I see where this is going.... You are just like me! ...kinda... You are just as committed to the thought that we won't get a star as I am committed to the thought that we'll never win without one. SO WE BOTH LOSE.

BTW, I'm happy when Elf has good games. We just need him to do it more consistently. I'm not panicky for a PG to be honest. I want a SF... BADLY.

This! if we can get A real SF and move Evan or Tross to the bench! we are in business! We can stay with the Biz Vuc tandem at C ! keep Ag at PF.

What does winning games accomplish?

It should be obvious but i guess you never played ball, so won't waste my time answering this question.

The NBA is much different than amateur ball. There's levels to this. The NBA is a business. The business of building a long-term sustainable product. I think there may be a cultural disconnect here. There is something much greater going on than what you see on the scoreboard at the end of games.

Have anyone watched Jayson Tatum vs Louisvile? If not, then you should and then u'll understand why we need to tank this season.

I was thinking to myself. "We have who we like now....but once march madness and tournaments start... things are going to change a lil"

For some reason i can see Tatum being one whose stock will be greatly affected by his performance over the next month or so.

He's a surefire TOP5, he might go 4th because of DSJ recent struggles. I love his play, very mature, might be a go to scorer someday.

Only a fool makes the same mistake twice... so what does that make us if we made it three times?

2014 - Pick 3 is Embiid. Magic have pick 4.
2015 - Pick 4 is Porzingis. Magic have pick 5.

Its all just a little bit of history repeating...

Yeah we'll likely fall out of the top 5 and get and just miss one of the franchise changers while the Lakers continue to get top picks. This team refuses to just swallow their pride and tank. Before we landed Ross I said the worst thing they could do is add a player that makes us marginally better and ruins our draft position and that's EXACTLY what may happen. But remember when we beat Da Bulls doe!?

He reaches and takes foreign guys because literally every American based agent has told the Kings they will NOT deal with them every again if they draft their guy. The Kings have burnt all their bridges.

Is this an actual fact? Where did you get this from?

I remember hearing it a few times from reputable sources around the draft. Literally no players would work out for the Kings, and agents had apparently told the Kings directly they would not work with them at all. In my view that's part the reason why the have gone for foreign players.

No one thought Ross would be Tmac. Most positive people believe he can be a starting SG in this league who averages 18 ppg. Not sure why you keep making this up.

Yes we could trade Vuc and Fournier.

We are definitely better playing fast. That being said, we need to see how well we can do it, and that means we won't tank. How do you build confidence in a system that doesn't win games? The best case is to have close losses like we have had recently. If we can keep doing that, it will show that the concept works and we just need to add to the roster and get rid of the slower guys like Vuc.

I'm hoping for top 5. That means we have a high enough pick to where we may be able to trade into the top 3 or we can get Tatum, Isaac or DSJ.

I'd rather go Isaac or Tatum. Monk projects to be an undersized JR Smith imo with potentially much worse defense. I also dont like his low FT rate, and lack of PG skills.

I think there's a chance Tatum sneaks ahead of Jackson.
