NFL Draft Bible:
At least 16 NFL teams at #Penn pro day 2 watch QB Alex Torgersen. Den; Ind; SF; Nyj; Dal; Arz; Pit; Was; Min; Car; Mia; Phi; Tb; Atl; Ne; kc
They put Alex. It's Alek. And for clarification for those that don't know - that's Penn (Pennsylvania) and not Penn State. He's been a far bigger/more popular name in the scouting world than on the generic football sites. A lot of people like him as a developmental type.

He looks fearless in the pocket and makes quick decisions which has to be good foundation to build off of

Chris Godwin - WR - Nittany Lions
Penn State WR Chris Godwin's Combine workout places him in the 89th percentile of athleticism at the position, according to Zach Whitman.
At 6-foot-1 and 209 lbs, Godwin produced a top five workout among receivers. We knew Godwin shined as a contested catch receiver, converting those opportunities at a higher rate than any pass catcher over the last two years, according to Matt Harmon. Now add on Godwin's athleticism and his age (21 years old during rookie year) and you have yourself a second round pick at the latest.

From PFF:
The 3-cone matters.
Consider this my campaign to emphasize 3-cone times as much as 40-yard dashes. Watching NFL Network’s coverage of the combine over the weekend, I didn’t see a single 3-cone drill on the telecast. After the running backs completed the 3-cone Friday afternoon, it took until mid-day Saturday to even get results. Never mind the fact that it’s easily the most important drill at a number of positions, it would also make for great television as heavier linemen slip and slide trying to make hairpin turns. Please NFL, give the 3-cone the love it deserves.
Couldn't agree more. The three-cone is almost always the time I'm most interested in. With the possible exception of WR, and maybe CB and S, the three-cone is more significant than the 40 for every position.

Best to just quote and ignore Bingo on this one. Godwin's floor is a #2 WR. Not even sure how you could like Josh Doctson last year and not be enamored by the chance of taking Godwin in the 4th

Hey I was wrong several years ago in thinking Allen Robinson was just a #2 type receiver (ceiling). He's clearly a top #10 in the league. As for Godwin, I'm going to be right on that one.
FYI - Doctson was #2 ranked receiver on my list behind Corey Coleman. Are you also implying that Godwin is better than Coleman as well? Followed by Treadwell, Tyler Boyd, and Michael Thomas. I'm not sure why you even brought Doctson in this conversation?

On paper they look like very similar players (weight/height/measurables). The difference being one was a vertical threat specialist in college and the other is a complete receiver. Godwin is 21 and Doctson 23 coming out as a prospect.

Jabrill Peppers - DB - Wolverines
Packers beat writer Bob McGinn spoke with one NFL scout who gushed about Michigan DB/LB Jabrill Peppers, calling him a top five prospect in the draft.
"The worst thing he is is a safety who can cover the slot. I’d start him (off) at corner," the scout said. It can be an issue when the three scouts polled for the piece cannot agree on Peppers' position, as another evaluator believes Peppers is an offensive player, either a running back or slot receiver. The big question is if you can select a "utility" player in the first round, or even the top 15.

Curtis Samuel - RB - Buckeyes
Ohio State RB/WR Curtis Samuel received Percy Harvin and Randall Cobb comparisons from NFL scouts.
"Unique player," one said. "Physically tough. Playmaking ability." Samuel worked out with receivers at the NFL Combine, but spent most of his time in the backfield at Ohio State. One of his best traits is exiting the huddle in 11 personnel (one tight end, one running back) and motioning out to empty, producing favorable matchups. Samuel tested in the 64th percentile and will be just 21 years old in the NFL. He will be a second day selection.

There you go 1z:
Bucky Hodges - TE - Hokies
Virginia Tech TE Bucky Hodges's athletic profile places him in the 94th percentile.
Hodges lined up as a receiver more often than an inline tight end in 2017, but his size at 6-foot-6 and 257 pounds certainly doesn't project to an outside role in the NFL. Now, he might be used in that area from time to time to create mismatches, but he will be viewed as an inline project with receiving skills. He shined in the explosive tests, the forty, vertical jump and broad jump.

This translates into...
He wasn't a worthwhile inline TE in college, so at the next level we'll try him at inline TE as a project.

Just found out via twitter that Tyler Rogers (My sleeper QB for the past two years) was medically redshirted and given another year at NMSU. This medical redshirt thing doesn't make any sense to me at all since Rogers still played in +90% of the games his senior season.

Probably because he was only healthy for 4 games as a Junior and didn't burn any time as a Freshman.

Is that how it works?
I would have rated Tyler over Mitch this year, but next year we could be in the Darnold sweepstakes. Just wishing Rogers a healthy season, because his OL is atrocious.

This is alarmingly slow for Watson by the way. Allbright says the min threshold is 55mph.

Looked at his spread sheet over the years and there isn't a recording that low. Yikes.

His game tape is impressive. This past college season he made one of the best interceptions you will ever see. Reminiscent of Charles Woodson interception when he played at Michigan.
However I don't recall Pozz posting anything in regard to his combine #s that would indicate he performed that well. I might have overlooked it:
Kevin King - DB - Huskies
NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah writes that Washington CB Kevin King "clearly established himself as a top-40 selection with his performance in Indianapolis."
Jeremiah relays that in conversations with scouts and evaluators at the Combine, King's work "kept coming up." The Washington product aced athletic testing in Indy, running through the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds and recording some of the best short shuttle and three-cone results that we have seen from a corner in the last 20 years. "This draft is loaded with talented cornerbacks," Jeremiah notes, "but his combination of size, length, ball skills and speed could make him a late-first-round pick."

T-11th in the 40 (.03 faster and he'd have been in the top 5, mind you)
4th best in the vert
Did not broad
Best in the short shuttle by 0.05 and T-6th best since 2006
Best in the long shuttle by 0.05
Best in the 3-cone drill by 0.08 and 8th best since 2006
I'm not going to pretend that I talked to thousands of folks or that I have a real scientific way of doing this but the circles I was in all this week with draft people that I'm friends with, he was among the top 3-5 most talked about prospects following the combine.

I should have just waited for you to provide the #s. Something told me you was already on top of it. Wasted 20 minutes pulling this and compiling your numbers on him. I'm not going to waste my 20 minutes- I'm still posting it even though you already provided it. Lol
