Re: College basketball and 2017 draft
Kings are currently set to get the 6th and 7th picks. If it shakes out like that and we get a top-three, I wonder if we'd trade down to get two picks. Not sure that's enough if we land #1, but maybe if two of our top guys are still on the board. If it was #5 and #6 it would be really tempting. Get whoever's left out of Jackson/Tatum/Isaac and either Markkanen or one of the PGs.

I've thought about this. I'm a bit skeptical of both Lonzo Ball and Josh Jackson. If Ranadive is a Hield-boner for one of those guys and we're sitting at #2, I'd strongly consider trading down to pick up Ntilikina and Williams.

I think Tatum is going to be the 3rd or 4th guy off the board when all is said and done. Personally, If ball is gone I'd take Tatum over Jackson.

Whoa! Now we're a club!
(to be clear, while I have Tatum > Jackson, I don't think either is so "can't miss" that we should draft them... we already have Warren/DJJ/Booker/Bender who can play minutes at the 3)

No one on our team has shown that they're long-term starter at 3, and a championship team almost definitely won't have a rotation of TJ Warren/DJJ. Derrick Jones Jr has been fun to watch dunk, but he hasn't even shot a jump shot in the NBA yet. TJ played the first 10 and the last 8 games really well, but the 30+ games in between that were really inconsistent and mediocre. In my opinon no one on this team, outside of Booker and including Bledsoe, is good enough that we should feel their position is locked down for the position of the future, especially with how talented this draft is.
Tatum or Jackson is definitely debatable, but both of them have the potential to be a more complete basketball player than the 3s on our roster and shouldn't be passed up just because we already have players there.

I think we all know Booker isn't going anywhere and has the starting job locked down, and obviously the team and most of the fanbase loves him, but looking at exactly how all players have performed on offense and defense, why do you personally feel HE has shown he is a long term starter?

I'm so back and forth on T.J. I think he's a great player but something just doesn't feel right about him and I get the feeling a lot of us share the same view. I love his high % shooting and the fact that you don't have to run plays for him. I don't know what it is that I can't just say, yea tj Warren is our dude.

I think TJ could turn into a JJ situation where we can't agree on a contract then he plays himself out of our price range next summer.

Hopefully Sarver doesn't do that again. I guess we will see if he learned from that. Looks like he has wised up recently though so they should just get it done.

Djj shooting 82% on the year hater
I'm hoping he ends up at 90% this year so I can troll anyone that says he can't shoot. I like what I've seen from Bender and he is versatile enough to play 3-5 at certain points of the game. If I had to pick 3 guys to keep on our team it would most certainly be Bender/Booker/Chriss so in my eyes I dont think a SF should be out of the question if they view him as best available talent.

He still has a lot to work on, but the feel for the game and skill he's shown as a 20 year old with the mentality he has makes me think that he's going to develop into one of the best players in the league at his position. His offensive foundation is versatile and rock solid; he can score from anywhere off the dribble, off the catch, and off-balance, but he needs to polish the ball handling to cut turnovers and improve his shot selection so he's not hurting his efficiency by taking fading mid-range shots so frequently. I think he has what it takes to be a 25/4+/4+ guy on 45+/40+/80+ shooting splits going into his second contract with the Suns with another offseason or 2 of strength training and film study.
The veteran voices around him have all been pretty vocal about defense being the thing that will either make him a star or keeps him from it, so hopefully he takes that to heart and improves there. Also, while I don't think he's a good defender now by any means, Bledsoe's defense falling off a cliff this year hasn't made Booker look any better either.

I wouldnt. This draft is deep but I think there is a talent difference between the top 4 guys (5 depending on how you view Tatum) and the rest of the guys. I wouldnt pass up getting one of those top guys.

How do you rank the top 5?

I think the top 5 is Fultz, Ball, DSJ, Jackson and Tatum in no particular order. I think those 5 have the best mix of a high floor and high ceiling.

I agree, depending on team need they could go I almost any order.
How do you compare tatum with their forwards the las few years; Ingram, Winslow, jabari?
If fultz knee injury is more serious than we've been told he could drop.
Ball has a crazy family.
Dsj has an injury history
Jackson has had legal troubles and is an old freshman
Tatum has weak facial hair

Pre season I had Tatum #1 out of the past Duke wings. I think Tatum is a stud prospect, I think he checks every box, great scorer, great rebounder, his defense and facilitating is very underrated, I think thats because those were considered his big weaknesses pre season and its hard to change those narratives. The only problem I have with Tatum is finishing at the rim. Ive been on record im confused with his explosion, defensively to block shots and to grab rebounds he gets off the floor very well. But when he drives in traffic he really struggles to explode. So a part of me feels like its an issue that he can fix because I feel like the explosion is there, just needs to tweak how he drives. But if he doesnt improve it I think it limits his potential. If I were to rank them right now Id go
1.Jabari
2.Tatum
3.Winslow
.
.
4.Ingram
This is how I felt as them as prospects entering the draft. Im still very high on Winslow, I think hes a jumpshot away from being a flat out stud, he is an elite defender with a good handle, really good slasher and a good facilitator.

Re: College basketball and 2017 draft
For those watching the Duke game, Tatum just showed why I have some faith that his explosion wont be an issue. He just got up big time for a big put back dunk. I just feel like he needs to be coached on how to drive because he has 0 lift when he drives.

If there wasn't 3 point shooting, DeAaron Fox would be right next to Ball and Smith, and now he's 6 of last 10 from 3.
You know about Kentucky guards at the draft.

If we don't land the no.1 pick, I think there's 10 guys who you could make a case for as being the BPA at our pick:
Ball, Jackson, Tatum, Smith, Isaac, Williams, Fox, Markkanen, Ntilkina, Monk.
Might be a draft where you prefer 2 x top 10 than 1 x top 5.

Do we definitely know that we had scouts at the ACC this week? If so, I have to think Tatum is 2 or 3 on our pre tourney/ pre combine and workouts big board
