Ingram vs. Brown

Post#1 » by theman » Sun Mar 12, 2017 2:32 am

With the season coming to an end and ROY voting happening soon I thought it might be interesting to discuss these two player who were picked one after the other.

Ingram was the best prospect in 2016 draft

Brown was always closer to his ceiling due his to physical maturity. They'll both be nice players, and I like the head on Brown's shoulders, but there seems to be alot of Jaylen Brown's coming into the league in these coming years... (Winslow, Johnson, Jackson, Brown, Tatum) while only one really similar to Ingram (Isaac). Not sure who will have the more mismatches in the future, but I'll lean towards BI and his length and skillset over Jaylen's.

This is not even worthy of discussing imo

As good as Brown has played, Boston would happily trade him (straight up) today for Ingram.

Really no contest. Ingram has the length of a center but has the handle and iq of a guard. His ceiling is superstar. Brown looks like Dwyane Wade lite at times I'll give him that.

Who? Jaylen **** Brown?

I'll never, EVER, forget his last college game..... sure, you can say it's just a game, kid was a teenager, yada yada.
But that game cemented my belief that he'll never be anywhere close to a top 2 option on any team, top 3 option on a solid team.
If you want to win games, that is.

He's a role player, always will be. I don't give a **** how he looks now compared to Ingram, there's just certain aspects of the game you either have or you don't, from an early age..

As doc put it, not even debatable...I don't know who the 3 guys who voted for Brown really are, but they need to get their urine tested.

This is going to be this year's version of Russell vs Mudiay.

I disagree. Ingram will be fine, maybe better in the future, but right now slight advantage to Brown.

So you would seriously pick Brown over Ingram as of today? Get the fake out of here!! Brown can become a good player but he doesnt have a ceiling of a superstar. As for Ingram, he is one of the youngest NBA player right now (1+ years younger than Brown) and has shown flashes of superstar ability along with his versatile length and position. Ingram also have the right mindset and work ethics. He has a good summer with Kobe then he can take a huge jump next year.

In the nba's redraft a couple of days there ago was some intresting stuff, everyone still had simmons going first
with murray a distance second,have a look.
As far as the rookie of the year this year saric without question, would be embiid if he had a few more games.

Who gives a **** about some NBA redraft done 8 months later by a low rent analyst? Certainly not us.

What happens in the first 8 months alone has little to no relevance on how NBA GMs make their picks with their projections lasting upto 5 years down the road. If you want people to say Brown is better with 8 months of hindsight, go back to the Celtics board and join in the circle jerk.

Brown looks to be trending up quick now. His 3 point percentage after the all star break is pretty crazy. It even bumped his season % to a respectable 35% season. Not bad for a prospect coming in without a shot

So he made 14 3s over 10 games after taking 1.3 3s a game over his first 53 games. If you think that streak is going to sustain, I have a bridge connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.

I'd say I agree with you but since we are talking about players so young and at the beginning of their careers I can't side with your rebuttal. This is what you would want to see from your young players. Real improvements. Brown looks like the better player right now. That's is all I'm saying.
