Tatum had a great ACC tournament, there's a lot to like about him. He has very good ball handling skills, can create shots for himself, has a great frame for a SF, is sneaky athletic, and he's really smooth working out of the post and in the mid-range.

My biggest question with him that I've had all year is why his range stops at the 3-point line? He's only shooting 34% from 3 on the season, and if you remove the game that appears to be an outlier where he went 6/7 from 3 then he'd only be at 30% on the season. He has a pretty nice looking jump shot and seems to be very comfortable in the mid-range, so it's weird that it's not translating outside. His free throw percentage is encouraging, but neither individual stat is a particularly good predictor of NBA 3-point shooting. I just can't see him suddenly being successful when the line moves back 3 feet.

I mean Josh Jackson shot better than him from 3 both through the entire season (37.7% vs 33.6%) and in conference play (43.5% vs 37.5%) lol at least the ball goes in for him even if he needs to work out a kink in his form. Plus I don't like Josh for his scoring lol

I don't know, it's like the constant joke about us drafting brothers. But ask yourself this, how many Kentucky players have we drafted in the top 10? How many Kentucky players have we even drafted in the first round? All I can think of off the top of my head is Booker and Kyle Macy unless you want to include the guy we drafted for trade (Rondo)? Anyway, I see no reason to expect, even out of frustration, that we'll draft Fox this season. If he dropped to the second round, yeah, then I think we'd jump on him, but I can't see us wasting a high pick on a very flawed player.

I said the same thing a bit ago. My hunch is we have Tatum over Jackson at this point. He's a year younger, a longer reach, and is a talented scorer. My only concern is he seems a bit of a duplicate to Warren. While Warren is a slasher and scores in a variety of ways in the mid-range Tatum is more of an ISO mid range scorer like Melo. The end result is basically the same (being great in the mid range.) Do we duplicate a skill we already have? Do we package Warren with Knight and a pick? The end of June seems like a long ways off.

That should be taken into account. Goodwin was another one in the first round, and then obviously Ulis in the 2nd round.

No, I'm well aware of all the Kentucky connections we've had. The point is, this is the draft and we have not wasted high picks on Kentucky players. I think we wasted a high pick on Knight. Sure our highest pick we didn't got for Noel and instead went for Len. Of course we took Booker, when our apparent top choices, Kaminsky and WCS were off the board. There really wasn't anyone worth taking over Warren with that pick. But yeah, we did got with Bender over Murray last year.
