These next 5 are very important, because those final 10 games look like much tougher competition and are mostly on the road. Not expecting any favors from other teams in terms of resting

The Bulls are just looking for soft shady place to lay down and die.

The Bucks have their next 6 games on the road, and 12 of their final 17 are on the road. They are dead and don't know it.

As long as we avoid a drop in energy, we've got the playoffs in the bag.

I don't wanna jump the gun on saying it is in the bag, but I really want the team to finish over .500 and get the 6th or 7th seed.

Finishing > .500 is possible, but we'd have to win 10 of our final 15 games. It's doable, but I don't know. That would mean that we lost 10 or fewer games over the last 1/2 of the season. That's a .756 winning percentage ... which is Golden St/San Antonio get out of our way Cleveland level winning. That's probably a bit much to ask.

You're worried about this team playing > .500 ball the rest of the way?

We won the season series with the Bucks 3-1 so as long as we can tie with them we own the 8th seed. I'm feeling pretty confident. The Bucks have won 6 straight though so they are playing well which is fine, I don't want a pity playoff spot, no point if we don't have to earn it.

I think the Pistons are also likely candidates to implode.

We play 6 games against contenders - Toronto x 2, Wizards x 2, Boston x 1, Cavs x 1
We play 3 games against teams fighting for a playoff position in Detroit, Denver, Portland
We play 7 games against non playoff teams in Charlotte x 2 (I think Charlotte has entered tank stage at 3.5 games back with 16 left), New York x 2, Phoenix, Minnesota and New Orleans

Ideally we win all 7 non playoff games as they are all so bunched up and jockeying for draft position. I'll give us 5-2 for some leeway

The three in the middle are a crapshoot. I'll be a pessimist and go for 1-2

We probably lose to Boston. Toronto is lacking without Lowry and we dismantled them, so I think at least a 1-1 split. What is interesting are the Cavs and Wizards games. They are right at the end of the season and we will likely be pawns in their strategy. I think each team would rather the other team play Miami in the first round than say Chicago. So if Miami was in 9th, and Washington was already locked into two seed, I could see them dropping 2 games just so Cleveland would play us in the first round and get roughed up. Alternatively, I could see if we were in 8th, Cleveland dropping a game to help us move to 7th to help avoid us in first round. So I'll pick 2-1 for those 3 games.

So I have us at a pessimistic 9-7 to finish 40-42, but as high as 43-39.
