But when it comes to Ingram, I'm indifferent. I believe he's actually our best player, all things considered. I think he seems 'lost', because he's playing with a group of guys who aren't playing team basketball.

I also expected a rough season from Brandon. He's clearly a late bloomer. But he's still 19 for 6 more months. by the time he's 21, that's a full season and TWO off-seasons of work in the gym and weight room. Hopefully under Kobes tutelage.

I have zero doubts that Ingram will be an allstar by his 4th year. I wish the rest of laker nation could see beyond the early struggles and realize this kid has everything you could ask for in a prospect.

Completely respect that. I too see so many good things in what Ingram does. The guy has a pretty legit bag of tricks, IMO. Especially for a guy so young. A guy like that is gonna struggle with his scrawny physique. I put that sentence in there that he and Zubac are rookies, because as bad as it was.....that guy has so much he can correct.

Just kinda hoped he'd drain a few more of those shots. Be a little more effective, ya know?

I wanted to see more out of Ingram. I hoped we'd see a better year......but the true bulk of my disappointment goes to Randle and Russell. Nance, Clarkson, Black.....those guys are role-players. I never expected too much. Any big strides they made/make are gravy. But top draft choices like Ingram, Russell, Randle come with some loftier hopes. I just didn't see much growth from last year.....and that has me worried.

They actually traded away the real best player in Lou Williams for a coke and a smile, so it's clear being the best on this team is akin to passing your AIDS test.

Damn that's harsh. I hear it though. I agree with the principle. Nobody here's God's gift to sh***.....cause if they were, we wouldn't be rock bottom. I think Russell has some things going, but God he lacks that fire.

Can you teach the fire? If you need to be taught...haven't you already failed the "acid test"?

This year was super disappointing all around. I feel like we have a big collection of "ho hum" players. Dime-a-dozen. I'm pretty happy with what Zubac has been doing.......but I've yet to see anyone make any strides. Ingram just looks lost. Russell and Randle look just like back in summer-league. Where's that guy pulling ahead? Separating himself out as a force to be reckoned with in this league? I don't see anyone even close.

Is anything here salvageable? Mostly I see a junk-heap. I don't like saying it.......but man.

Ingram and Zubac are rookies. But Ingram has been just a massive disappointment for a #2 pick. The guy has been a disaster, and the worst part is, nothing is improving.

I think that's the glaring issue for anyone who's willing to be intellectually honest, and just look at this team. Nobody's coming into their own. Nobody's really improving. Guy's aren't figuring anything out. Nobody's taking any sort of "next step".

Is this the coach? Was Luke the totally wrong guy here? Or is this just he pile of BS he was handed? I've watched this too many years now. Scott took this team NOWHERE. That's a fairly popular opinion around here. Fair enough.....so what exactly has Luke done with it?

Depends on what you think the "next step" is. Ingram isn't going to be Durant in a month. He's actually been a lot more efficient as of late and has finished well at the rim. Randle hasn't had the next step yet but he's already valuable as a double/double machinne. Same with DLo though the injury is partially to blame there. If Zubac keeps having games like this we'll only need to trade Zubac and Deng for Paul George.

Hasn't Zubac shown the most real promise out of everyone? Not just looking at numbers, hasn't he shown the highest aptitude for winning basketball out of all the youngsters?

You trade Randle for George, not Zubac.

Well you tell me. I mean all the cute stats....all the "blah blah blah" aside.....given our rate of growth, when do we become a playoff team? 20 years?

Were you counting on guys like Mozgov, Black, Young to make big strides and take this team somewhere? Cause I sorta hoped our assortment of top-picks might fill that role. 17 wins turned into 20....you good with that? Maybe we get 24 next year, 29-30 after that. Hell....we'll be a .500 team in 8 years.

Hoped 3-straight top draft picks might help turn the team into a force. Crazy me, I guess.

I wanna see Zubac get on people's radar...and still grow, before I start getting too excited. But I totally agree. He's at least making gains. The guy's only been in like 28 games or so....and your already see that GROWTH we're missing from the others.

Again.....it's early. But I think "promise" is a great word for him. I see more than from anyone else.

He also had his best game. Let's see how he follows it up.

Kobe came into the league at 17 years old and he didn't get that many? I'm pretty surprised.

Gotta be a mistake. I just checked and I'm pretty sure Kobe scored 25 3x, and 26 twice when he was still 19.

For some reason Ingram seems to have a bigger impact on the game than the box score shows....while Randle the opposite....true? Or is it just me?

Tells you all you need to know about D'Angelo's mentality that the arm chair psychologists here fail to grasp time and again. He doesn't bother about the points, assists or any personal totals but what he does care about is being a net positive on the team when he is on the floor. That falls right in line with the team oriented philosophy the modern NBA is embracing.
