That Bounce pass he had to Nemaj Tonight was crazy. Wizards should of just given up at that point

Problem is he still cant finish at the rim. He's starting to hit the Open 3 which is all he needs to do offensively

1.Towns
2.Wiggins
3. Rubio

Wiggins hasn't played that well the past few games, but before that he was easily the Wolves best player.

I don't know if he's the best or whatever but I do know he's playing his best ball that I've seen him play.

I like how aggressive he is at looking for his offense and it seems like he's driving more leading to freethows which he has been consistent in making. Don't know if it will carry till next season but it's been a joy to watch so far.

He's getting better there though. Only a tenth of a percent behind his career high within 3 feet (which was last year).

Hard to remember that he is still only 26. He's been around for so long that you think he was 30 by now.

Those are clearly being better than him, maybe you can make a case above Lillard since he is horrible at defense.

Why are those players clearly better than him? I mean, some of them obviously are better than him, at least 5-6 players, but the rest? Just based on RPM, Rubio was 5th last year, 11th two seasons ago, and 9th three years ago. Right now he is 16th, but easily top 10 since Thibodeau changed tactics and allowed him to create.

Before that he was sent into the corner while LaVine and Wiggins played pick & rolls, and he was predictably horrific in that role. Your list and how you put that sentence clearly shows me that just because Conley, Walker, Thomas and Lillard score much more, you aren't even willing to entertain the idea that Rubio could be more impactful, or even if he is not, at least close to them.

Which, in my humble opinion, just reflects how most fans view him. For some reason, people just can't wrap their head around a player like Rubio, because he is so unusual in the sense that he is terrible at something. We think that if a player has a glaring weakness, he cannot be top 10 at his position, which is a flawed thinking imo, and the advanced stats show this for the most part.

I agree with you in part, I really believe that Rubio is more impactful than guys like Lillard or Kemba, I just hadn't the balls to say it. But I disagree a lot with your view of IT and Conley, IT is a monster at offense and 5 year old child at defense, but he's guidding his team to a top seed in the EAST, while Conley is a two way player, a very good efficient scorer, a decent playmaker and arguably a better defender than Rubio.

If you think a player is really good, own it. There have been plenty of threads and arguments in the past and you're by no means the first to suggest Rubio is one of the 5-10 best point guards in the league. Some of us just got tired of the argument.

He's never been comfortable with contact and he can't Jump. Always been a problem i thought (Worse then his shooting)

He's struggled with Thibs half year "isolate everyone" offense, But once he's been able to run the team he's been what we've always wanted, and known what he could do

Easily? Last 25 games:

KAT - 29 ppg, 13 rpb, 2.6 apg, 0.7 spg, 1.4 bpg, 60.4% FG, 46.3% 3P, 82% FT, 66.3% TS, 128 ORTG, 108 DRTG
Wiggins - 25.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.5 spg, 0.3 bpg, 46.3% FT, 35.6% 3P, 82.3% FT, 55% TS, 111 ORTG, 113 DRTG

2016-2017
KAT - 24.5 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 2.8 apg, 0.7 spg, 1.4 bpg, 119 ORTG, 108 DRTG, 25.4 PER, 61% TS, 10.1 WS, 0.199 WS/48, 5.2 BPM, 4.4 VORP
Wiggins - 22.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.4 bpg, 107 ORTG, 113 DRTG, 16.3 PER, 53.5% TS, 3.9 WS, 0.075 WS/48, -2.1 BPM, -0.1 VORP

KAT is two levels above Wiggins and it's not even close.

there is no doubt about it.. if Rubio can play like this on a consistent basis, this team can be GREAT.

On a sidenote, KAT is a ridiculously good offensive player, if he ever puts it together on defense, he'll be the best player in the league, and probably by a good margin.

Call me crazy but he looks like the best and most dominant offensive PF/C since Shaq :o

He could be that fabled hybrid player we often talk about on these forums, someone who could bring the skills of several all-time greats to the table. :o

LaVine? as in Zach LaVine? :rofl2:

Maybe at playing horse or track&field. I'll give you that. And same as Wiggins. But Wiggins is close, he just needs to start dominating on defense. LaVine is a LOL though.

If Rubio, IMO not a top 10 PG so mediocre, is your 2nd best player your team won't make the playoffs or be very good in the West eg. 10 games under 500.

One thing to remember Rubio though only 26 has been a pro for 12 yrs already so hit his ceiling except for shooting.

I disagree having Rubio gives Minnesota a greater chance at becoming a powerhouse in the West in the near future. If the wolves were to replace Rubio with a score first PG with tunnel vision and bad defense their playoff hopes would go down considerably. Rubio makes everybody around him better when he's on the court. Mn needs to hold onto Rubio as long as they can including resigning him when his contract comes up after next year.

Salty.

Wolves at .650 recently and just beat you.

Wait until LaVine comes back as 6th man.

I'm glad they didn't trade him for financial purposes. I wouldn't blame them for doing it, and the Rose trade wasn't even as bad as people acted like it was, because Rose is a massive expiring and they need financial flexibility in the future, but I'm glad it didn't happen.

One of my favorite players in the game, and he's a great fit next to the core they have. I want to see him play with Towns for years to come.

I first watched Rubio play as a 17 yr old. Same player as now he tries now on defense. Still can't shoot which can be developed with effort but he hasn't done it in 12 years of pro basketball.

Warriors have been beaten by Lakers as well.

I like watching Timberwolves but disappointed that they can go 12-4 be under 500 and miss the playoffs.

This will be the last year they ll finish under .500 and potentially miss the playoffs(still a slim chance).
