Re: Welcome Simmons
I'm more concerned with him on rotations. He did seem to get lost on help defense a bit at LSU. If he can rotate and pester the guy with the ball, then he'll be fine on defense.

Do you feel comfortable thinking that's true? There is some evidence, but I just can't. There is more misdirection and spin off around this team and injuries then there is in freaking Washinton DC.

I don't believe for one second it's a fake injury. Simmons is right back at training doing what he was doing prior to his 20 week scan a few weeks ago when they said it wasn't fully healed yet.
He hasn't increased intensity of these 5-0 drills. Obviously it's not like these drills are going to increase any chances of him re-fracturing it... it just means he can't increase his workload to 100% until there is a full union of the bone in the foot... and until they do the 24 week scan. By the time the next scan happens... there is hardly any games left in the season.

This draft we need a scoring point guard Fultz or DSJR is the move to compliment Simmons.

I really think that if they wanted to let him play than they could.

Ball or Fultz or Jackson...no to DSJR.

Sure.. if we were in the playoffs I also think he would probably play... but you'd also be risking a re-fracture. The club would potentially go with that risk if it was the playoffs.
But we are currently in tank mode... so makes absolutely no sense to risk his future in meaningless games when we should be trying to tank. It's illogical really to play him now for 15 games.... whilst everyone wants to see him play at the end of the day when the new season starts in October nobody is going to care that he played now... just like we don't care that Embiid didn't play the last few weeks of last season either.

Re: Welcome Simmons
Ben Simmons dunking and more shockingly a left handed floater?!?!
edit: Another quite shocking tweet, from this angle it looks like Ben's left elbow is still poorly aligned during his FT's. Postpone his return till 2018, we need more time to fix his form.

He missed the left handed floater thoughat least he's shooting close up with his left. He **** right handed like 95% of the time within 5 feet. I hope that changes in the NBA. It's just so odd he can't or doesn't shoot left handed up close.
His finishing ability is pretty good even with that serious liability with his left hand. If he can improve on that he would improve his game tremendously.

He needs to learn from The Homie how to be ambidextrous. That is a major advantage that Saric has that is really glossed over. His left hand is really good in close.

Re: Welcome Simmons
BC openly tanking even harder than Sam. I'm all for not playing him at this point but he is clearly healthy.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

No doubt in my mind Simmons would have been on the floor for a while now if we were trying to make playoffs.

That's the best I've seen him moving since training camp. Only about 80% but looking good.

Avery Bradley who coached in the same conference as Simmons... and coached against him twice... said he will be First team All-defense in the first few years of his career.

Always thought the same thing.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
