Brian Bruney says whatz up!!
But I do agree with you that proctor is one of our best guys in the pen. If we had to deal someone please let it be Farnsworth

Clippard, Abreu, DeSalvo and we would even pick up part of Abreu's deal. Let's do it. Keep Melky because I sure as hell do not want to see Damon playing right field night in and night out. -Jitpal

I'd throw Melky in there. DeSalvo has no future in the majors what so ever, and Clippard may have one, but probably not with the Yankees due to our great crop of pitching prospects. Abreu is gone at season's end anyway, so we'd only be losing out on Melky's long term production which isn't such a terrible thing when you are getting Carlos Beltran.

No, it isn't that I ming giving up Melky, it is just that we trade away our starting CF and RF. Who plays RF for us until the end of the year? Kevin Thompson? Trade for Sanders? I'd rather pick up some of Abreu's dollars and keep Melky to play RF. -Jitpal

I see what you're saying. I'd be willing to give Brett Gardner a chance right now, it looks like he may be in our OF next season as it is.

sorry, we are not getting equal value in return. you're giving us a 4th outfielder, 2 b/c level pitching prospects(which we have plenty of us on our own) and an aged OF who cant bat in the 3 hole for us for the remainder of the year.
mets laugh when they hear this offer. beltran would have to be hitting .220/10/45 with 100 K's for the mets to even consider trading him.
in theory, mets might listen to your offers if you mentioned tabata.

i understand a team would want a lot for beltran, but you are highly underrating Melky. an outfielder with plus defense and one of the strongest arms in the league, who has plate discipline and gets on base. he could eventually develop 15-20 HR pop. If the mets needed better pitching prospects, the yankees would have no problem giving up a Michael Dunn (LHP) or a Chase Wright,Steven White,Jason Jones, Brett Smith..the yanks are absolutely STACKED with minor league pitching.
and on Tabata, the yankees have 2 OF prospects and 1 of them is just coming into their own. Austin Jackson was promoted to Tampa and completely tore up the pitching in front of Tabata. maybe this would make Tabata more available, or maybe it would just make the Yankees confirm he is untouchable.
Abreu, Melky, Eric Duncan, and Brett Smith/Tyler Clippard should be enough for Beltran..

No way we trade with the mets. That'd be like steinbrenner calling up john henry and talk trade...

believe me, i watch enough yankee games to know that melky has an good-above average arm. hes got a great arm compared to your current outfielders, and beltrans arm and defense is double his.
sorry, not nearly enough for beltran. like i said, the only WAY the mets even consider this offer is if beltran is hitting 220/10/45. melky does nto have any HR threat, and abreu.. we dont even need to go there- we're losing 20 homers a season if we trade abreu/melky for beltran come on....
just like mets fan do with pelfrey/milledge/gomez etc. you are way way WAY overvaluing melky. he will likely never be a 40/100 guy like beltran is. and you are trying to convince me im understestimating talent?
melky is probably one of the best 4th outfielders in the game. he could probably start for maybe 50% of the teams out there.

For those of you in NYC. The Mets and Yankees don't compete against each other 19 times a year, it would not be like John Henry. The Mets are the Mets....if we can get talent from them we will do it. Remember the Ventura trade?

You know, with all the farnsgarbage/proctor trade talk ill throw something "out" there. I know i will catch a ton of flack for this...
As a mets fan, I would entertain the idea of parting with one of our great prospects for someone like proctor, but I would be weary of parting with our OF prospects- pitching wise, I might listen
for the right price, I *might even take in farnsworth, but it would have to be for a low/aged prospect.

Low/Aged prospect? SOLD! I'll drive him to Shea myself. -Jitpal
