Dollar remainder.

That there is a harsh, harsh indictment of Dre. I disagree, but I still like the post.

I'd do Bill, Mahorn, Rodman at SF, Vinnie, and Chauncey. I could be persuaded to take Lindsey instead of Vinnie and have Chauncey defend at SG.

This is tough for me because I became a Pistons fan during Hill's rookie year, and in my opinion would have had a Lebron like career had he not been hurt, but I can only take one $5 player and it has to be Isaiah, so my team looks like this:
Isaiah Thomas ($5)
Vinnie Johnson ($2)
Marcus Morris ($2)
Denis Rodman ($4)
Andre Drummond ($2)
I want all the rebounds. But who is going to score?

For fun, if I wanted to have a team to beat Lebron I'd go with:
Billups ($4)
Vinnie Johnson ($2)
Grant Hill ($5)
Rick Mahorn ($2)
Andre Drummond ($2)
Hill and Drummond can hang with him athletically, and if Mahorn fouls him, Lebron might never get up :D
Detroit vs. Everybody :lift: :lift: :lift:

I like this lineup... but it still feels like a poor mans GTW team with KCP/Stanley/Dre as inferior versions. That said it is a bit unfair to compare these young guys to prime Rip/Prince/Ben. Your lineup may look considerably better in 5-10 years.

This was my backup.
It was either Morris/Rodman/Monroe or Stanley/Rasheed/Drummond, I think I'd get more reliable offense out of Morris and Monroe; if Stanley's shot is flat and Rasheed isn't pissed off or is just **** around on the perimeter even Drummond won't be able to clean up all their mistakes. I figure Morris and Monroe are versatile enough offensively to negate Rodman.

Same team, but I use the extra $1 to have KCP be my 2. I feel like alongside Isiah, he'd be much better. So I'm saying KCP would benefit from better PGs. Oh hey Reggie....

Laimbeer and Dre should be flipped value-wise.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Monroe/Rasheed/Mook/KCP/Chauncey

1 +5 + 2 + 3 + 4

Being able to fit in a 1 dollar player really gives you some flexibility everywhere else.

Monroe is a cheap but still pretty talented player who needs a specific situation to do well. A situation where every other player on the team can play defense and spread the floor where he's paired with another big who can handle the tougher big man assignments seems like the ticket to me.

Pretty satisfied with the overall balance of this group.

I do now realize this is very similar to a group already posted that had Drummond/Stanley in place of Monroe/Mook, but Stanley just isn't good enough yet to be a starter here. Gotta look at what the players are actually doing- not just their potential.

I agree Sheed is about the perfect compliment to Moose... but i still loathe the idea of a no defense, low mobility center. But if that is the rout you are going it's a solid lineup to make it work.

Ill stick with Bill. Lemme know how Moose is doing after taking a few elbows to the face. :-)

I just wanted to incorporate a 1 dollar guy because of the flexibility that gives you everywhere else, and Monroe is the only one who doesn't totally suck (sorry Stanley, you're not ready yet).

So should Rodman and Rasheed, methinks.

Can someone fix the price set up and include the top 25 players in franchise history?

Or NBA history?

Great thread idea so let's do it over and over again

The problem here is the fifth guy could be nearly as good as the top guy. For example, is there that much difference in the top five centers in NBA history to justify one costing $5 and another $1?

So maybe not 25 players?

Maybe sort it into tiers?
