The Magic have been assessed a technical for having six men on the floor. Mario Hezonja was the sixth man.

Obviously an expected loss, but I don't get why we don't give the young players more minutes. That loss was a given anyway, get Zimmerman more minutes and let Payton and AG play more than 21 minutes. If they are tired for the Phoenix game, all the better.

And people want to act like coaching has nothing to do with it... we might as well tank the next couple years as Vogel can't do anything without a star.

It feels like this team has no will to compete. Wether that's on coaching or players is moot. The sixers took this team to the wire and we get blown out by 30.

I just hope the current management is not around by draft time. I think we can wheel and deal around then. Consolidate some lesser talents for a good one.

Fournier vooch Payton Gordon would excel on any team but this one.

wow That was painfull to watch.
NBDL team would put on more of a show and Im scared because Green just secured his re-signing with us. :banghead: He looked like the only NBA player on our roster out there when he checked in.

Exactly. I really can't stand this team right. But like the fool I am, I will continue to watch.

GOrdon ,starting PF - 3 rebounds again in 21 min
Ross 25 min , 1 rebound ,0 assists
Payton 22 min , 2assists, 5 turnovers
Fournier ,24 min , 1 rebound, 0 assists

It's not like bench was any better but starters got blown away

That's because none of them are really starters.

I think we reached point where it's safe to say that huge problem for Magic main players is that they were overly exposed to a losing mentality and in general losing ,to the point where they are fine with losing games and it doesn't move them at all.

Is that really suprise ? Not really. Vučević and Evan only played for competitive teams in their rookie years and they didn't even play, they were like 11th man in rotation ( Vučević played 3 min of playoffs i belive, Evan 53 min ).
Elf and Gordon never played for competitie team. Hezonja was watching from bench Barcelona ( who were not winning anything in that period anyway).

We saw that problem with T wolves, Lakers, us, Suns. No matter how much (young ) talent they add, they simply struggle to turn corner and become competitive. Only teams that made big progress in Win column are: Nuggets ( Jokić won silver at Olympics ) and 76ers (added Embiid and Šarić, both uber competitive, added Henderson who was role player on playoff Blazers team ).

Magic tried to add battle tested players like DJ and Biyombo but both of them failed to do any impact. Even Biyombo , who is really competitive, mentally turned off around allstar break.

Oladipo, despite never being actual star, was one of few Magic players who actually hated losing, and who was making mistakes by trying to do to much- to stop losing ,but at least he tried. You see Vučević acting all angry because somebody made mistake ( like he was yelling at Gordon vs Kings) than on next possession he has missmatch and just turns and shoots fadeaway jumper, God forbid banging your body a little bit you lazy prick.

Agreed bro. Absolutely unnecessary signing by the Magic especially at that price.

Yup. I'm also sick of that tired ass "we traded Dipo because we didn't want him and Fournier." Blah blah bull ass excuse. We're rollin out Fournier and Ross who dipo is Better than. Just all around dumb moves.

How is that an excuse? The facts are that Oladipo wanted a max extension and Fournier's contract was up. Does it make sense to invest 35 million in 2 guys who play the same position?

Sensible investing!!? They just paid that effing bum Biyombo $17 million a year not to mention Green and Augustine and we ended up with two guys who play the same position starting anyway!! What in the actual ****?!?!?! I would've rather they paid Dipo and Fournier than continue our tread of giving away young talent for no damn reason.

What I believe is being said here is that we would have kept Victor, extended him and let Evan walk. It most certainly does not make sense to keep both guys at that dollar amount.
But they ended up paying two guys starters money to play the exact same position anyway. At least Oladipo would've actually had trade value if they decided to move him.

Yea we're spinning wheels but no matter how you cut the cake, we spent the money we would've spent on Dipo either way. Biz + DJ is more than we would have spent on Vic. Are those two really worth it? I'd say no but I feel like I'm starting to be that guy that complains about things that we can't change and I don't want to be overbearing with it.

Yeah and my overall point is that either way the team would be bad. It doesn't matter. I'd rather have a guy like Biyombo because I love his screen setting, offensive rebounding and he does alter a lot of shots. Oladipo and Harris wanted to be the star here and that would not bode well for when we draft an actual star and need to start feeding him touches. Biyombo also appears to be a good teammate and a floor leader. He is not a guy who sulks. I like that stuff, and all teams need it.

We need the right supporting cast around whomever we bring in. We lose a lot because we have no alpha dog and Fournier and Vuc are told to be that simply because they are the closest option we have.

Personally, I'm hoping the Magic make a lot of moves this summer. I believe they brought in Biz so they can have a starting 5 who doesn't need the ball and is a grinder. I expect to see Fournier and Vuc shopped and moved this year. The Magic need to do a full identity rebuild They need to have a great draft and hand the reigns over to the top pick as the go to scorer as soon as he is ready.

Keep the bouncy, positive, high energy guys like Ross, Gordon and Biz and draft some real scorers in this draft at PG and SF. Keep filling out the bench with guys who fit that mold. Let's form an identity of a hard working, selfless, uptempo team and get rid of the guys who don't fit that mold.

This franchise really just needs to completely clean house and start over. Upper management has been an absolute plague on this franchise and they have the reverse Midas touch because everything they touch turns to crap.

Seriously, how does a professional basketball team let that happen?!

Coach Vogel couldn't even provide a legit reason to that blunder other than it was a communication issue...

That's code for, we are tanking.

I disagree. I honestly just believe he had a miscommunication on the substitution.

That's a pretty sad veteran lineup. It's actually a bit difficult to understand where all the preseason optimism came from considering these were rotation pieces.
