It's his play calling and stubbornness that is messing up the team's offense.

You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

Currently, the Pistons waste 4.4 possessions per game on post-ups for Drummond, resulting in .72 points per possession (13th percentile). Overall, his efficiency is among the worst in the league for a center, yet his usage (24.8 percent) is well above average at his position.
holy crap.

I just don't get it.
Sit Reggie when he's not producing. Tell Dre to shut up about touches and grab offensive rebounds.
Simple fix. Why can't he just do it?
Hardheaded. I guess when you pay somebody 20 million a year they're the boss, not you anymore.

The problem isn't that we try to feed Dre in the post. We should try to feed dre in the post. The problem is that Dre rarely works for good post position and/or actually holds good post position long enough to get a pass. If Dre has 2 feet in the paint, yeah, get the bigman the ball.

This is one of the most damning things about this article. That's absolutely putrid and no other center would get this kind of featuring if they posted similar PPP like Dre has. At this point, it's a sunk cost, we should stop trying to develop him too much down there. And since we rely on Dre post ups so much, it clogs the lanes since he's smackdown in the middle under the basket when he could be sealing off his man off of a fake post up so that our guys can drive cleanly. You see freaking Baynes do that all the time for our guards or forwards.
Also Ish distributes like an actual PG should, evenly to all his guys.
Jackson’s usage percentage currently sits at 26.7 percent on 23.6 field goal attempts per 100 possessions
That's comically high isn't it? That kind of usage rate is flirting with the John Walls/Westbrook/Chris Pauls of the world. Head scratcher for sure.

Its ridiculous he doesn't know how to use his hook shot at all. His mindset is beg for the ball and chuck up a terrible fadeaway hook, passing or getting better position isn't an option for him.

IF we stop going to Dre on post ups he will never develop that aspect of his game and that will mean we will never be legit contenders with him on the team.
Dre needs to develop his offensive game in order for us to have the best chance
He also needs a lot of work on the defensive end!
I find his lack of progression disturbing

Don't stop feeding Dre the ball entirely. Make it clear to him and his teammates he is only to receive touches when he firmly has two feet in the paint. Let him develop post moves in practice first. You don't develop unreliable shots in game situations. That's how you lose regularly.

i'd rather drummond be more tyson chandler than an athletic version of greg monroe. his focus should be offensive rebounding, lobs, fastbreak dunks, rim protection, and free throws i think SVG is using drummond the wrong way.

Tyson Chandler was also a critical piece in that 2011 Mavs championship run. Would love Dre if he can even touch that kind of energy Tyson brought to that team.

KCP, Tobias, Mook & SJ are surely trying to steer Dre in that direction...meanwhile RJ is all about taking over in the 4th.
Maybe RJ moving on will make a difference to Dre's mentality?
