Halfway through the BOS/PHX game...

How about now? Can we all agree that Tyler's kool-aid is tasty now?

I spiked it up with a bottle of vodka, and just sobering up! hahaha what a game! 8-)

Jokes aside: I really hope we've found our backup (occasional starter) point guard for the next 10 years.

Thanks for the link --

Entering Tuesday’s home contest against the Washington Wizards, Ulis has changed the Suns on both ends. In 20.2 minutes, he has averaged 9.8 points and 5.5 assists. Perhaps more important, his presence has led to better ball movement. Before the All-Star break – with Brandon Knight running the second unit – Phoenix’s 18.6 assists per game tied for last in the NBA. After the break, its 24.8 ties for fifth.

Ulis looks like a perfect player to pair with a guy like TJ Warren. They're two guys who have that sort of knack for just doing everything right within the flow of an offense. When you watch Ulis he just seems to do almost everything right, especially on offense. A lot of the time it just looks like simple plays and you think anyone can do that - but that's not true. It's really hard to make the right play every single time you have the basketball.

Let's take Knight or even Bledsoe for instance (he's been playing incredibly but I want to make a point here)- they sometimes force things and it doesn't look natural or fit the flow of the game/offense. In Knight's case he forces it way too often. But Ulis just sort of slips and slides about the court, around guys and it's all got this sort of flow to it and eventually the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and something good happens - he finds Williams who has established position or maybe Warren is cutting.

Of course he does do a move occasionally that makes you go "wow", but he does that (as I mentioned earlier) in the context of him making the right play. He's not frivolously dribbling around and making crossovers in the hope that his man bites or recklessly taking a fade away.

Anyway...Ulis has a chance to be a really good player. He has a skill set and a feel for the game that not a lot of other players possess.

Tyler Ulis is the 1st Suns rookie to record at least 12 PTS and 12 AST in a game since Steve Nash in 1996.

EXCITED about him starting. :D

I'm love ulis, I think he can be a great backup for a long time. Big sauce I'm not as high on as this board is. I'm not saying he's not a good player or can't be a decent backup but I'm not all sauced out like some of you.

There are so many PGs who are almost automatic -5 off the bench each game.

So if you can get a PG who can make his entire bench unit better and translate that to +/- that can be a big advantage.

Definitely like the assists. Boy I didn't realize how much I missed these types of special passes that Ulis can make.

Its quite amazing what happens to a team when they have a pg that passes like that. First, everyone stays engaged in the game, because if you aren't paying attention you'll get hit in the face by the ball. Then, everyone else starts passing better as well.

I am not a fan of combo guards. It usually means a sg playing pg who looks for his own game first.

Most NBA guards are pretty much that way now, though ...

We lose to the Kings and Magic at home with our best player going 9/39 from the floor. That's what happens.

That is not Ulis fault by any means.

He has made the ball movement way better and defensively he has not been worse than Bledsoe. With Bledsoe we have been losing all season long too.

Booker has failed shots that he usually makes and he looks a little bit tired in these last two games.

Edit:
Watson said Booker is playing through ankle and Achilles' pain. He said he could tell how the guard moved that Booker wasn't 100 percent.

Said Booker: "Most games (the ankle) loosens up and then I'm able to go. Tonight, it was stiff most of the night. Came back here (to the locker room) and tried to work on it and just couldn't get it going. But like I said, I'm sure 9 out of 10 people on the floor have something going on, so no excuse there."

Bledsoe needs to get traded. Between his knees and terrible point gaurd instincts, with the rise of Ulis and a chance to draft another PG....I'm over him.
