He's got a bit of a Ben Simmons vibe going on for me. Very good player on a poorly coached team with teammates that are just average college basketball players. He looks disinterested at times, frustrated at others. Kellan Olson wrote a piece for Arizona Sports about him that's worth a read. http://arizonasports.com/story/1003684/washington-markelle-fultz-nba-draft-prospect-worth-losing-for/

Also, as some people have already pointed out, he might be the Duncan of point guards in a sense that he plays without a lot of emotion and flairs, or so it seems. But he gets the job done like no other.

As for the poll: depends on where we pick and who is available there. I can justify both scenarios.

I know what you mean, when I watched games I didn't come away thinking he was the clear best player. I'll try to rewatch his games that are online to see if I feel different.

I'm not against drafting him, and I think that he's definitely a top 5 player because of the numbers he put up this year, but I think I have him 5th behind Ball, Jackson, Tatum and Markkanen. I'll fully admit I have a huge bias toward Markkanen for being a Wildcat, but there's still 3 other guys I like more than him.

Is that just a ranking of talent for you? Or is that how you would set a Suns draft board at this time?..that you'd be more likely to choose Markkanen over Fultz given the Suns current make up/talent situation.

Those are my personal top 5 favorite/best prospects. I love Markkanen, but I don't think I could pull the trigger on drafting him given Bender/Chriss. Then again, I'm not sure I could stand watching him on another team...

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I feel like when I watched Simmons last season, I was frequently wowed by him. I don't get the same reaction while watching Fultz.

If the suns don't win the lotto and take fultz I'm really starting to hope they land one of the Jackson, tatum, Isaac wing trio. I have them in that order now but its close.

I just love the idea of having warren, chriss, Bender, and one of them. They would have such a nice stable of young versatile athletes who do some different things. In today's nba you want to be able to throw multiple looks at teams. And if you want to be a true contender you need to have lineup versatility to match up with multiple styles of teams you might face in the playoffs.

Josh Hart from nova could be a solid pick at 33. He might not be the highest upside guy but he feels like the type of player who will have a solid long career. He reminds me of raja bell.

Northwestern got shafted. Blatant goal tend, leads to a tech on Coach Collins, essentially creates a 4 point swing in favor of Gonzaga. Absolutely shafted.

Man if AZ loses this it's gonna be pretty upsetting. At least they came back to make it closer. It was ugly for awhile. Might be good to have had a rough start though because Miller will probably lay into them at halftime. Better than had they gotten that lead that St Mary's had and allowed it to get close...they'd probably feel more overconfident. They should know they can't take these guys lightly now.

Markkanen is doing well at the half 9 points, 8 rebounds, 50 FG%.

He could be the worst defender and slowest player in the draft though.

The Cats under Sean Miller have always been a slow starting team, but they've also been one of the best second half teams in the NCAA. I never worry unless the lead is more than 10.

You should be cheering for the PAC-12 so we can get some of you bottom feeders into the Big Dance

Seriously, though. I want USC, Oregon and UCLA to bring honor to the Conference of Champions by advancing deep into the tournament.

Yeah, when it comes tourney time, I pull for all rivals to give the conference more cred.

Xavier drubbed Florida St. which was surprising. Going to be a tough one.

Return to Phoenix Suns
