Wizards were offering 3yrs 52mil, vs the 4yrs 72 mil we gave him.

And what did anyone offer Mozgov? Vet min? I know we overpaid on Deng but I'm saying at least it was to outbid someone else.

Oh!... I don't think there were anyother offers. We contacted him at 12:01 am the day free agency opened up, and signed him that morning.
Talking about how bad Julius Randle is:

Yeah that's the idea. Overpaying deng 20 million to get him instead of the Wizards is a little more excusable than overpaying Mozgov 70 million than the 0 he allegedly would have got from other teams.

This is all just Lakers tank. They don't want anybody actually good playing bwcause they want top 3 to keep their pick.

What do you think the fair market value for mozgov is right now on a 3 year deal?

My guess is like 3/ $30 as backup centers tend to hold a higher value than most realize.

He's got like 3/ $48 left so really just a negative equity of around $18m. Or $6m annually IF he can stay healthy.

The real risk is that if his medical history comes back into play his deal becomes a complete albatross like noah or parsons.

That makes sense if they got 2-year deals or something. I wish I could give our prior managers the benefit of the doubt....but they have not earned that these last 4-5 years. I think it was flat out stupidity and desperation.

Take a second, and think about it: we all now know without a shadow of a doubt that Jeanie and Jim are not friends. Jim made his proclamation. Jeanie said she fully intended to hold him to it. Knowing what we now know......Jim was very aware that this was it for him. And so he went 4-year stealth tank? Not buying it.

If you stop and think about it....we have a rookie SF and a rookie Center. They went and got veterans there. I don't think that was by accident. There's LOGIC to what they did.....they just badly overpaid for the wrong pair.

So are they going to be DNP'd for the entirety of the next 3 seasons as well?

They're gonna have to shoot them up with DNP to even get them on the court healthy three years from now

Naw the Lakers want to keep this years top 3 pick which converts I think into two seconds next year. After that they will see about these contracts. The reason healthy Mozgov is done for the season is because Magic is in charge now and he wants to keep that pick. Are you seeing the lineups rolled out? Russell comes off the bench now behind a nobody. This is a blatant tank.

I get what your saying, as it applies to right now....but I'm talking about back in July when they signed them. They weren't thinking tank. If they had been.....it wouldn't have been 4-year deals.

Mozgov and Deng are not good, they would help the tank if anything.

That management team wasn't thinking tank. But they got fired for incompetence and now there is a new management. They are scratching those guys for tank purposes.
