Our medical staff will treat him for a bone bruise. The lost toe is asymptomatic.

With Holmes and Long to close out the year, we'll actually get pretty enjoyable C play.

Not bad last night. I think I'd be fine with him as our 3rd string center behind Embiid and Holmes next year. Put him on a Hinkie special and see if he develops. I'd rather spend our draft and free agent capital on guards and wings.

Shawn Long signed for the remainder of the season. Seems like signed a hinkie special deal.

3&D big who seems to be a good rebounder and plays with a motor. Good move.

Apparently he was also making too much noise in the dleague that we need to sign him before some team does. He is everything Arnett Moultrie wants to become.

That was a game played at 6 January, other teams had plenty of time  . He looks more athletic than I thought in those clips, I like him as a 3rd center on the roster.

I'm fine with taking a flier on this guy, recent tank commander efforts notwithstanding. If nothing else, perhaps he can help deliver us a top 3 pick!

Can this guy be Holmes 2.0? He's not as athletic but seems like a much better rebounder. Seems not so far fetched that he can be a good shooter.

Long has great offensive skills and rebounding. It's just that he went to the Okafor school of Defense.

He's actually a great team defender (team plays best defense when he's on court) and has higher blk% than both Noel and Holmes and highest reb% with both of them (Noel&Holmes) and Embiid :o

..just 47mins tho

FWIW, I think Long is brought by BC to show the fans how easy it is to find a back-up big just as how Holmes is with Noel. Also makes any downgrade in talent but upgrade in fit via trade with our big(Okafor) more acceptable.

Someone tell me in what way Okafor is a better player than Long. Long is a much better rebounder. Long is a better defender. Long moves better without the ball. Okafor is the worst center on the roster. Would anyone seriously take Okafor on their team over Long?

He's better at spin move lay-ups. That's about it.

He's been incredible in his limited sample thus far. We'd be foolish not to give him a longer look next year.

Brooklyn Nets should have signed Long
