What a crap game, two biggest culprits, Barton and Malone.

i think it was smart the role players to take the shots because it was unexpected... the thing is barton just run out of luck... for gods sake he had an easy layup and blew it...its ok it happens
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

Maybe Phil Jackson wasn't thinking when he kept giving the ball to Michael Jordan in key spots? Everyone knew that's where it was going, so there was no surprise. Too bad it kept working. Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J and the list goes on. LeBron James has never been known as a great 3pt shooter, although he has improved. Yet even in his early years, he could hit a game winning 3 even when everyone knew the ball was coming to him. I suppose you think Golden State should have McCaw take the game winning shot because nobody would expect it?

Nope, not buying it and won't try to. Now, if the players and coaches say, "The other team stopped the play we'd planned and Barton took the shot" - I'm fine with that. Barton isn't a terrible shooter. He's actually rather good. But he was having a terrible night shooting. If he'd hit 7 of 10 from 3 that night; great, let him shoot. But he is not "the man"/"the closer"/"the finisher" - not on most nights.

Malone have no structure on his team , it's free flow offense who ever have a ball in his hands can shoot it . There was a game when Jokic attempted single shot in the entire game  Imagine that with Antony Towns in Minnesota , the way they developing him , he has to score every other possession , especially in the crunch time , he's the alpha with Wiggins there . Can anyone tell me who's the main guy for Denver ???

yeah nice comment, humans thrive on imitation, but imitating greatness all the time is not only way to live

ps i am sure if we digged up the stories you refer to we would have found a lot of exceptions to the rule

As I was told when I first came on RealGM, sarcasm should be done in a green font or everyone will just think you are a jerk.
Criticize my posts, fine with me. This wasn't bad but added no real content. I seriously doubt anyone assumed I spent a great deal of time pulling out the names of some of the most famous players nor did anyone really believe there wouldn't be exceptions.

Nuggets posters welcome others, but please add content. We do not want anyone to "thrive on imitation" of your post.

Misc thoughts

Barton seemed to have a nice game, especially offensively. He usually gives a solid effort on defense, especially one-on-one.

Hernangomez is sure looking like a quality NBA starter. Let's see what happens as teams get to know his game, that can often change things.

Harris had a nice game, but I, for one, surely do wish he'd shoot more. ;-)

Nelson fighting against Nene while Harden drives the length of the court, past Jokic & Hernangomez (neither of whom could ever keep up with him), that was a low-IQ basketball play. He is NOT going to win a shoving match against Nene and when the ball is in Harden's hands, he deserves the most attention.

Murray & Mudiay, our two young PGs had a positive impact on the game. Sure wish Malone would start one and play them both 30 mpg.

there was lot of content in my post...content is not something measured by number of characters...simplicity and straightforwardness carry a lot of depth to them for those willing to ponder upon the words...

If you look at it in isolation, giving the ball to Barton was not a bad idea. Unfortunately, he was at the end of a bad-shooting night and should have deferred to someone else.

Barton was forced to compensate for the absence of Gallo and Chandler and was caught trying to play beyond his ability.

Why would you take bad 3 point attempt , when you have almost a full minute on the shot clock, you could drive to the basket, post up Jokic, plus hundreds of other options to score in that situation

I pondered. There was a lot of content. Too much negative IMO. It was just a friendly, casual warning.
