Getting him for 5-10 draft pick range seems fair right now.
C'mon now, bh, grow up. Most one-and-dones spend next to no time on their academics since they have any viable and extremely lucrative and exciting career path. Shaq and Barkley shout that to the rooftops all the time, and as a college teacher I can also tell you that's true of many D1 student-athletes in the big sports (even those who don't have realistic pro prospects). And if you don't understand the very legit argument against the NCAA's use of 'student-athletes' then you probably shouldn't be having this discussion.
In any case, Simmons' saying the NCAA is screwed up isn't a red flag in anyone's book aside from old school marms who think everyone should always be respectful of any authority no matter what. It's definitely not going to discount his value or make him seem like some sort of crazy diva who will never listen to his coach because he expresses his thoughts in a calm manner. (Incidentally, I'm really sorry your team didn't get the #1 pick last year, unfortunately only one team can get it. Better luck this year.)
