Lots of Ball Bashing here. Look, I don't think he is a fit here with us. But one average game does NOT a career make. He will be a good team facilitator. And hopefully a good situational scorer.

Why is he not a fit here? Seems like we're the best fit for him of the top 5 teams. I guess it depends on if you doubt Simmons as a creator.

Not sure you can have too many great passers on one team.

Simmons is our main Ball handler and facilitator, and should be. Lonzo is not a defender. Not a scorer. So pairing him with Simmons is just stupid. Most smart people could easily see that.

This has been the least exciting tournament that I can remember in a long time. Finally a big shot.

I mean it doesn't matter that much if Ball is a big scorer or not. He just would need to move the ball and hit open 3s. Two Trump-y posts in the span of an hour, really need to be careful there.

Payton otoh was not a good free throw shooter in college, which is why it's not surprising he hasn't developed a jumper. Fox is also much quicker than Payton.

I just wouldn't downplay how truly awful he's been on non-FTs. He finishes like a boss and still struggles to get to a 55% TS. My point with PG shooting is that it's WAY harder for a PG to improve his jumper. He's going to be taking so many more shots off the bounce, and that's just way different than telling a Josh Jackson to go sit in the corner and hit standstill 3s and just keep practicing until you can.

I don't disagree that his floor is much higher than Elfrid's either way though.

I'm not down playing it, he's been a terrible jump shooter. Lots of guys learn to shoot once they get to the nba though and the good ft shooting is encouraging.

Yeah I got you. I was just saying the FT shooting doesn't really matter as much for him or any PG because it's more about shooting off the dribble and such, which is different than FTs (obviously). I understand the theory and stat background of the translation of FT shooting, but dribble jumpers are different skills from FTs and the like.

 please GM's take Ball. This stinker plus Lavar might drop him and we might lose out on better players.

I'll still take Ntilikina over Fox. Bulletproof though, sorry to disappoint.

Ball is great playing with the flow and doesn't force his will. He looks terrific when the team has positive momentum but when things are flat/sour all his flaws as an average individual scorer/defender gets exposed. But then, how valuable is the later one in today's game when the game nowadays is soft, fast paced, spaced and less individual/heavy team oriented.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

If you believe that Simmons is our main ball handler and facilitator then Ball is a pretty incredible fit. Don't veil your insults. Be a man and call me stupid and we'll see how it plays out.

Still think the Playoffs take on a different tone, so it's needed still.

(I'm not taking a stance on whether Ball has "it" for those situations or not, more just saying it does still matter.)

Ball didn't have a great game but I think he will be just fine on draft night. I wouldn't be surprised if the order fell like this

1. PHX - Josh Jackson
2. LAL - Lonzo Ball
3. BOS - could see someone trading up here to get Fultz. Or just assume Bos takes Fultz its w/e
4. ORL - Jayson Tatum
5. PHI - here's where I could see us picking

who would you want at 5 assuming those 4 are gone?

I'd really only want Monk or DSJ in that spot

He would actually be a good fit here. I just don't think he'll be very good, and I outspoken about him being a potential bust before his game tonight. Just not worth a top 5 pick IMO.

I also thought it was funny how Ball started limping around as soon as the game was out of question. Not a good look.

What was that like a 3pt floater at the buzzer to give Florida the win?

That was another good game
