Re: Devin Booker
I have to backtrack from my thoughts about us not having a no.1 option for a championship team, if you can score 70 as a 20 year old (playing after injury, 40 minutes the night before, away to a top 6 team) you're it.
I'm more comfortable with drafting a safer no.2 option like Josh Jackson now, otherwise I might go for a Tatum or Fox for their higher scoring ceiling.

Why the Lakers though? is it the d'angelo thing?
Haven't you heard? D'Angelo is the best player in the world. The only thing conceivable package he could be traded for is D'Lo and Mozgov for Boogie, AD and their 1st round picks for the next decade.

4 games before this he shot 22 of 71, and he played 40 minutes in another city the night before.
Even more magical.

Re: Devin Booker
i'm reading a lot of negative articles about booker scoring 70 and it's a little strange... I for one was not really all that shocked he ended with 70. All of us who've watched devin the past two years know hes capable of blowing up at any point very quickly. Most of the time it seems the only thing that was holding him back from dropping 50 is his teammates that refuse to feed him when hes hot. I'd say a couple more 50 point games and the haters will be on board the book express. So by my calculations, sometime next season

"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

Re: Devin Booker
Can we just change his official point total to 65 so we don't have to listen to everyone bitching about the last couple possessions?
Trying out this Substack thing. Suns and NBA thoughts. Check it out: https://hoopsnexus.substack.com/

Didn't see the game. 70 is impressive no matter how he got it.
Were we only fouling on the last few possessions? If so, no big deal.

We fouled twice and it was like a 11 point game. Not really a big deal considering the game wasn't won yet.

Re: Devin Booker
OK. The fact is that they pulled within 11 with a minute and a half to go. There are some remarkable things about this game.
1. It must take an incredible amount of stamina just to put up that many points in an NBA game.
2. He was double and triple teamed at times and still scored. That is the making of a superstar.
3. This type of game is important for a young star like Booker because it changes the way the player thinks. The confidence goes through the roof and makes them even more effective.
4. This also changes the way other teams, and especially the referees see a player. Booker will get more calls.
5. It was a fairly efficient game as well.

Re: Devin Booker
These are the points I brought up:
- You can give the ball to many players in the league for every possession from the get-go and they won't score 70. He's a special player.
- Boston had too bring their starters back in (people are complaining that it was done against the 2nd unit but Boston had to bring their starters back in)
- The Suns starters were Ulis, Booker, Len, Jones, Chriss. For a struggling Suns team, Booker made the most sense to lead the offense.
- The score was 66-43 at half. When he started taking over the Suns pulled as close as 10 (if I recall correctly)
- Boston might be upset but they should be concerned that they didn't know how to guard a guy who they KNEW was getting the ball every single time.

Re: Devin Booker
The radio hosts suggested Booker may never make an all star game. Of course anything can happen, but being so blunt makes me think they simply don't watch Booker play.
