I know Smart is a young man, but I wonder if he is a little banged up right now. He seems more ground bound than usual. The way he sacrifices his body on defense has to take a toll.

He has been bad since the ASB but some reason but he was coming along really well before that. Same with Olynyk. In fact, if I am not mistaken, Olynyk made his first 3 pointer tonight since the ASB.

He'll be fine. I trust Marcus in big moments. He does have a lot of duds on offense at times and that can sometimes span over a month but he's still a big part of the defense, our only point guard aside from IT who could average way more if he felt like it, and still makes big plays such as tonight.

Even with hindsight--- name me a player you'd rather have from the '14 draft @ #6 than Marcus Smart... Nikola Jokic maybe? He was the 41st pick--- no hindsight involved there. I'm hoping someone says Julius Randle so I can openly laugh at you.

Finest Kind IPA by Smuttynose (straight outta NH) is awesome. And so is Marcus Smart.

Boston Fans need to start valuing our ballsiest players like Marcus MF'n Smart or I'm going to Philly in exile w/ truth18. They appreciate the fighters-- the underdogs down there and I'm starting to openly question my own people now. I don't like it and I wish things were different tbh. Boston's still significantly cooler than Philly** but rent here SUCKS so pls don't force my hand, guys.

No one I would rather have picked behind him except JoKic.

in hindsight I wish we would have done something else with #17 though. at the time I was fist pumping right along with Simmons.

Marcus's defensive tenacity is KG-esque. You don't teach that

Can't pretend I was about him at the time (F Duke so much. Also, Miss St never forgets, Kid), but Rodney Hood would've been a fantastic addition to this team.

Not a Jokic-lvl regret, but he'd make any Avery decision a hell of a lot easier.

Smart is the worst scorer in recent memory. Not sure why some people continue to find ways to defend him.

"Jokic maybe"? are you serious when you use the "maybe"?
There are other players that are better than Smart.
1. jokic, lavine, gary harris, hood
These are clearly better than him.
2. capela, tj warren, saric, and nurkic.
Some of them are better or in the same level.

Some people also would put randle in the second group, but I hate that guy, is a cancer for a competitive team.

Smart's issue is shot selection. If you aren't going to make above the break 3s, then stop freaking shooting him. He needs to drive and pull up, and drive and kick. He has the game to play in the NBA, and the ability, but he right now has a ton of empty trip shots. I want him to use hos strength to get into the lane.

I want him on our team, but 4-15, 1-12 and those kind of nights are killing our offense. He has to play, but he has to stop shooting those shots he can't make.

I'm serious when I suggest that taking the #41 overall pick vs the #6 is some obvious hindsight cherrypicking. Overreacting to my word choice there IMO.

Would definitely take Smart over the rest of the guys you listed. Elite specialists are unbelievably valuable in this league; especially defensive ones in an era where guards have every incentive/opportunity to just torch teams on a nightly basis.

Marcus Smart is finally starting to get some respect by the refs--- they're just starting to realize that real human beings are apparently able to do the things Marcus does out there defensively. If the refs legitimately adjust their expectations for him full time, we're basically talking about him being granted permission to be an even bigger defensive juggernaut. Ron Artest of Point Guards--- it's happening, so get excited.
