No way we make the playoffs. We are 1.5 games behind Miami for the 8th seed and they've played like one of the best teams in basketball for the past 2 months. We are 2.5 games behind the Pacers and Bucks (also rolling). If those teams even go 6-5 in their last 11 games we need to 8-2 just to tie. After seeing the effort that last 2 nights, that isn't happening.

I'm more hopeful they tank like champs and can get past Charlotte & Portland into the 12th pick. That gives us slightly better minuscule odds of popping into the top 3 but more importantly puts us a little bit closer to be able to get a young guard to replace Reggie.

We draft BPA with the other pick, hoping it's a C

Dallas OUT: Powell, Harris & their pick.

Lakers OUT: JC, their pick & Black

Think this works for all teams:

Dallas clear Powell by using their pick to get RJ & our pick

Lakers get a big to team with Ingram, Randle & Russell

We go the Miami route and play whatever guys play hardest

IF SVG TRADES OUR MF"ING PICK I WILL LOSE IT!

Free agents don't want to come here.

The only way we get better is to draft well and develop our young talent. This draft is absolutely stacked. We should pray we lose the remaining games and capitalize. If SVG and his oversized staff can't nail this one Gores needs to dump the lot of them.

No one, I repeat no one is going to sign Reggie. He's broken. Speed is gone and his breathing issues keep getting worse. Best case is he has surgery in the offseason and comes back playing half way decent off the bench.

Andre is our only tradeable asset and we should move him for whatever deal + pick we can get.

This is the draft to try and take a shot.

I'm pretty convinced if the Lakers keep their pick this year they'll be using it to trade for Paul George. I think Ainge values the Celtics picks and young players like Gollum and the ring, but I think the Lakers would just say "eff it" and give up the pick / Ingram / Randle for George to make a splash with Magic.

I also think RJ has negative value and don't want to combine him with Drummond in a trade. Get the most value possible back for Drummond and just salary dump RJ separately (if possible) without it contaminating the value we get back from Drummond.

In fairness, he's saying to use our pick and Drummond to get 2 picks this year from LA and Dallas.

I remember in the offseason I would bash every person and their moms when they said pistons would finish lower than 6th. I defended this team until February, embarrassed myself and now all we have to show for is the 12th pick? Idc about this team anymore, they clearly stopped caring so why should we?

I predicted we'd win 50 as the FLOOR if we stayed healthy. Crow tastes like chicken and humiliation.

I love Marcus Morris. I want him to bully Reggie Jackson. Beat Reggie into the role off the bench he belongs in. I want SVG to pay Morris to bully Reggie Jackson. If his BFF Drummond has a problem with it? Bye Bye Dre..

Andre Drummond... an outdated big smh. No FT's, can't hit a 13 footer, not reliable 1-on-1 in the post with ONLY a hook and has no motor or attention span. But he's the best athlete in the NBA smh... TRADE HIM for 2 or 3 solid pieces

I want Dinwiddie back!

SVG assembled the most boring roster ever. I have had easy opportunities to go to games this year been invited 10+ times and never wanted to see these guys live. Fox sports all year

Oh yeah... go to my profile and search "Reggie" told RealGM the truth about Mr. Trashson just like I did with WhyHe Suckey!

How tf am I still a rookie on here when I been on the site since 2009? Posts the only thing that matter huh? Disrespectful.

As stale as the team is I'm tired of people giving up on the season in my inbox and everywhere. Like... we only get 1 basketball season a year why the hell are yall so patient as fans? I wanna make the playoffs and win every year! I touched on that in the 8 seed thread. Championship every year is the goal as a fan. Period.

I'm ashamed to say that I stopped watching this team after the Brooklyn loss and have no intention of watching another second of Pistons basketball this season. I just can't tolerate it anymore. I'm not even interested in dissecting it. What I can say is that it looks like we may not win another game this year. Maybe that moves us up a tad in the draft. Maybe not.

Tough to care though.

I feel like I've been through this feeling multiple times this season. I'll completely lose interest (much like the players) and then get suckered into watching after a win only to go back to not giving a s again. This season has been the most disappointing in recent memeory.

Hey at least we didn't waste a lot of effort by working really hard to get the 7th seed, only to have to play the Cavs in the first round again where they'll inevitably start trying again. :nonono:

Some of the quotes that came out after the game last night really makes it sound like the team wants to shut Jackson down so he can get a headstart on being healthy over the summer... for next season. Which means they plan to keep him around. What an awful notion.

A 100% Reggie Jackson is great for Reggie Jackson. Not so much for just about everybody else around him. He's not making plays for others whether he's 100% or 10%. Drummond gets an uptick in the PnR but not enough to make him efficient overall. So if Caldwell-Pope is kept around he's going to basically be a $20 million defender because he (and any other wing player) is not going to be utilized offensively. Not in any kind of consistent role at least. Might as well dump Harris for salary purposes too because hey who needs an actual efficient offensive player when you have a healthy Reggie to chuck up shots.

If the team takes that route this is going to get worse before it gets better. Much worse. A treadmill 8th seed/late lottery team is about the worst thing you can put together.

I agree, and the most likely scenario is that SVG is being honest and blunt here like he always is... but if they wanted to shut him down and still hope to have some tiny bit of trade value, I doubt they'd say we're shutting him down cause he sucks, we want to tank (or we don't want to tank and want to win), or whatever reason. Maybe see if you can spin it as this year was a fluke and next year he'll be healthy?

I think shutting him down for "health" reasons helps preserve his value to other teams. We can try to sell them on him that he's recovered from injury and back to 15-16 form, rather than try to convince a team to take a poor fit off of our hands and rescue us.
